Job Description
The NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) enriches the environment and protects public health for all New Yorkers by providing 1.1 billion gallons of high-quality drinking water, managing wastewater and stormwater, and reducing air, noise, and hazardous materials pollution. DEP is the largest combined municipal water and wastewater utility in the country, with nearly 6,000 employees. DEP's water supply system is comprised of 19 reservoirs and 3 controlled lakes throughout the system’s 2,000 square mile watershed that extends 125 miles north and west of the City.
The Budget Office manages the agency’s operating budget, coordinates federal and state grants and miscellaneous revenues collections. See below for more details on the areas that the interns may assist:
Expense (Other Than Personnel Services/Personnel Services): Assist in the preparation of budget document and reports. Provide support in the upgrade and design of more efficient budget processes. Grants, Revenues, Claims: Assist in the preparation of payment packages for submission to the State to validate bond financings.
The selected candidate may assist with preparing weekly reports, maintaining files and other high-level clerical duties.

Qualifications
Candidates must be currently enrolled in a graduate degree program in an accredited college, university or law school.
