Facebook Reality Labs (FRL) is looking for an exceptional person to take the role of Account General Manager. This is a critical new role in our new Global Wireless Carrier Sales Team. This team is focused on bringing the new connected Facebook hardware and experiences to consumers in key US Wireless Carrier points of distribution. This is not your traditional OEM to Wireless Carrier sales leadership role. We are looking for leaders and contributors who will break from tradition and create a change in GTM for the next computing platform. Reporting to the Head of Global Wireless Carrier Sales, this role will lead the Facebook Reality Labs hardware business, including leading direct sales managers, forming key relationships across customer leadership and working teams, and be the point for the commercial relationship for all connected Facebook hardware.This role requires a seasoned leader that can work on multiple axis; recruit a team, while building the future GTM structure; lead your team and support cross-functional teams, but will also dive into the hard work as well; and finally push the boundaries for our products and also live the values and culture that is Facebook. Successful candidates at FRL lead with influence before title and communicate easily across functions and levels of the team. You will need to be at home in a fast-paced environment with democratized information and working across Facebook Product Management, Business Development, Marketing, and Operations teams and at the same time working with the customer’s cross functional teams.
Lead, recruit, and develop a team of Strategic Account Managers to create the FRL US Carrier Sales Team that will bring Facebook hardware to carrier distribution
Create the new channel, business, and collaboration opportunities that bring consumers into the carrier channels looking for our customer’s and FRL products
Direct and manage FRL business activities with carriers and possibly other emerging wireless operators, implementing effective strategies and programs to meet organizational goals
Create, develop and maintain executive account relationships across the customer organization that lead to optimal business relationships, leading to both working and planning, alignment and execution
Regular customer/market/product/competitive analysis that leads to account objectives and strategies. Regularly communicate with executives and internal/external stakeholders to align resources and achieve mutual goals
Negotiate and present account programs/contracts, gaining internal alignment and approvals with cross functional partners (finance, legal, operations, etc.)
Build and grow relationships with FRL cross functional leaders (e.g. Channel Operations, Sales Enablement, Sales Analytics, Category, etc.) to drive account goals
Lead & execute joint business planning, QBRs and product launch and seasonal planning activities to meet sales objectives within agreed upon budgets and KPIs
Manage account scorecard, allocate budget, identify opportunities for optimization and growth
15+ years experience in progressive sales, marketing or business roles with a clear record of quota or KPI achievement and success in technology based consumer sales
Experience and clear understanding of the North American wireless carrier, device manufacturing or other relevant telecommunications category
Experience leading teams, business planning and tactical execution, with an understanding of the various market models available to drive Carrier sales in various channels and network activation and equally important, an opinion of what GTM innovation could be
Experience in go-to-market planning and execution across online and traditional retail channels
Proven communication and presentation skills with a business acumen
Experience advocating for innovation and the opportunities presented by disruptive technologies
Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or related field
MBA or postgraduate degree
Desire to bring something new to the market
