Octagon, Inc. Account Manager, Brand Strategy in New York, New York

The Overview:

Rogers & Cowan PMK is seeking an Account Manager to join our fast-growing Brand Strategy/Communications and thought leadership group in New York. This exciting role will focus on consumer and corporate communications, executive visibility, and compelling narrative development.

Reporting to the VP of Brand Strategy, you will serve as a primary PR contact for several global brands and start-up clients, often engaging at the C-Suite level. You will help lead and develop account teams to encourage creative comms that drives our clients' corporate objectives including overall brand comms strategy, landscape analysis, and consumer trends.

The Fine Print:

This role will lead PR teams within several diverse industries including entertainment, media, and technology. You will work with peers to champion the mission, goals, and culture of the agency including developing the skill set of the rising stars in your team.

As Account Manager, you will develop layered comms strategies around consumer trends and business goals, including how to successfully place/secure premier earned media placements, speaking opportunities, sponsorships, awards, and event opportunities. You are a strong narrator and understand the importance of sophisticated stories for different audiences.

A key part of success is researching, identifying, and producing strategic narratives and compelling storylines. You should be immersed in trends in tech, lifestyle, and culture, which gives you a strong POV on how to create significant platforms for brands that move the world forward.

The Needs:

Proven experience at a Senior Account Executive level or higher achieved within a PR agency structure or internal equivalent

Experience with executive visibility and thought leadership development, particularly at the C-Suite level

Experience working as part of an integrated marketing team, representing the PR POV while helping to run cross-agency workstreams for national/global campaigns.

Established media relationships, particularly in the consumer, technology, and ad trade spaces

Track record of developing and implementing integrated PR strategies that utilize the full scope of the communications mix, including influencer outreach, talent relations, and events.

Proven experience evolving and elevating agency processes and client strategies with changing trends in the media landscape

Experience working within an integrated agency team structure

Self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset
