Position Summary

Under the direct supervision of the Controller and/or CFO, the Accounting Clerk participates in the following functions: running AR Aging Reports, make collection calls, send emails with Statements or copies of Invoices as requested by customer, analyze activity into AR card, be able to reconcile differences and explain them to the client. This is a part time position.

Responsibilities

  • Reconcile accounts payable by verifying entries, comparing system reports to balances

  • Keep accurate account records, ensuring suppliers are paid timely

  • Track payments and expenditures, vendor invoices and statements

  • Provide accounting and clerical support for the accounting department

  • Daily enter key data of financial transactions in database

  • Prepare bank deposits, general ledger postings and statements

  • Provide assistance and support to the accounting staff

  • Contact clients via phone or email to collect on open balances in accounts under terms

  • Contact clients to respond to billing inquiries or any other requests

  • Ability to achieve weekly goals set up for the position

  • Work on various accounting projects as needed

  • Contact clients for collection purposes

  • Maintain historical records

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with individuals at all levels within the Firm

  • Ability to perform multiple tasks and prioritize accordingly

  • Knowledge of and compliance with pertinent Firm?s policies and procedures

  • Good organizational skills required
