Hip Hop Dance
Music (Instruments, Singing)
Planning and Organization
Plan and submit lesson plans on a regular basis as required by site supervisor.
Demonstrate age appropriate crafts and activities which will promote growth and development among participants.
Effectively develop a rapport with participants, maintaining safety and confidentiality.
Engage and monitor participants during program hours.
Create a fun and engaging environment for all participants, maintaining safety and confidentiality.
Must be available during program hours as per site requirements.
Plan special events and culminating projects related to their activity.
Keep daily attendance records, attend regular supervision and participate in evaluation processes.
Willingness to work extended hours when school is not in session (i.e. Winter Recess, Mid-Winter Recess, Spring Recess, Parent Engagement Events etc.)
Flexible team player, with the ability, and willingness to work with adolescents, staff, and families.
Must adhere to agency, and site specific safety standards.
Comply with city and departmental rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
Maintain clean and safe work environment and notify supervisor of any hazardous issues.
Must be able to participate in professional development, including a pre-summer training in June and the pre-school year training in the fall, in addition to various meetings and trainings throughout the year.
Contribute in the planning and facilitation of special events and psycho-educational, youth development and academic workshops.
Participate in professional development, including a pre-program training the last week of August, in addition to various unity meetings and trainings throughout the year. Perform special projects and other related duties as assigned by supervisors .
Attend regular staff meetings, supervision and participate in evaluation processes.
Must possess or be in the pursuit of a Bachelor's Degree in specified field
CPR/First Aid Certifications or the ability to obtain one
Must be available to work at least 1-3 days a week from 3PM to 6PM. Classes are generally 1 hour each period.
Flexible team player, with the ability, and willingness to work with children, adolescents, staff, and families.
Effective, persuasive written and verbal communication skills as well as ability to be model and facilitate positive conflict resolution
Ability to be a mentor and resource to students, staff, families and embrace/foster cultural inclusiveness
Inspired through creativity and able to bring these talents to the work site
Previous experience in classroom teaching, youth programming, or youth camp experience
Bilingual in Spanish, one or more Chinese dialects, etc. is a PLUS
Previous experience working with the youth in instructing various activities (i.e. Step, Zumba, Salsa, Hip Hop Dance, Martial Arts, Theatre Arts, Culinary Arts, Yoga, etc.)
