KPMG is currently seeking an Advisory Intern for our Investigations, Disputes & Compliance practice in Consulting.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide healthcare and life sciences organizations with integrated services across the full life-cycle of risk and regulatory change, including advising on compliance with and monitoring of new regulations, working with regulators to understand future changes and advising on risk mitigation and remediation; Key areas include:

  • Compliance audits / gap assessments / maturity assessments

  • Third-party / vendor compliance audits

  • Compliance monitoring program design and implementation

  • Compliance & contract operational effectiveness

  • Sell-side and buy-side diligence assistance

  • Government pricing

  • Phamacy Benefit Managers assessments

  • Foreign Corrupt Practice Act proactive assessments

  • Clinical Research Organization Assessments

  • Compliance policy standardization / drafting

  • Patient Support / Patient Assistance Program Assessments

  • Healthcare coding and billing assessments

  • Physician contracting reviews

  • Privacy assessments

  • Investigations involving suspicions of fraud and misconduct by employees, management, or third parties

  • Maintain awareness of relevant marketplace issues and emerging industry regulations and guidelines and assist with development and implementation of new compliance protocols as new regulations emerge and laws change

  • Assist with the collection of information and data through effective client interviews, system queries and internal/external research

  • Help complete qualitative and quantitative data analysis leveraging a variety of tools and methods; assist with compiling information verbally, visually and in writing to translate to client needs; and help provide recommendations

  • Assist in special projects, including strategic growth initiatives, business development, thought leadership creation, training development and delivery and engagement and practice administration activities

Qualifications:

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing the following degrees/majors: Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Health Policy and Administration, Public Policy, Law, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or an equivalent healthcare and life sciences program

  • Must have a current/most recent GPA of 3.00 or above

  • Possess an understanding of the healthcare and/or life sciences industries; the associated laws, rules and regulations; and the fields of regulatory and compliance risk management, compliance, internal audit and/or legal

  • Strong technical aptitude, demonstrated quality service mindset, critical thinking and research skills, ability to navigate various computer applications including MS Office with emphasis on Excel and aptitude to quickly learn KPMG audit tools and applications used by our clients; data analytics and visualization skills (SQL, Power BI, Tableau, Python) are highly preferred

  • Excellent communication, time management and leadership skills; flexible and adaptable team player; and resourceful in delivering high quality work

  • Ability to travel and/or work on-site at client premises up to 80%, at times with relatively short notice

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future
