Citigroup Analyst or Assistant Vice President – Residential Mortgage Analytics in New York, New York

Citigroup’s Residential Mortgage Analytics Group, a unit within Global Spread Products, is seeking to add an Assistant Vice President or Analyst to its existing team. The broader business trades Residential Loans, provides debt facilities, securitization and advisory services to our institutional clients and touches non-agency assets including seasoned performing, re-performing and non-performing loans, new origination prime and near prime loans, HELOC and closed end second mortgages, mortgage servicing rights, small balance commercial (SBC) loans and single family rental and I-Buyer (SF) assets. Existing clients are well capitalized non-bank originators, hedge funds, private equity funds, servicers, single family operators and REITs with expertise in originating, aggregating, and/or managing residential mortgage assets.

The candidate will be joining a larger Residential Mortgages team and gain exposure to analytics, due diligence, trading, structuring and banking functions. They will also interact with clients as well as technology and product teams. Responsibilities will include:

Work on long-term technology initiatives

  • Testing and implementation of vendor products

  • Migration of legacy platform to Python

Maintain data integrity, processes and workflows across systems

Collaborate across the three main business lines:

  • Whole Loan Trading

  • Residential Finance

  • Securitization and Advisory

Contribute to live transactions such as:

  • Whole Loan Bids / Acquisitions

  • Loan Sales / Securitizations

  • Warehouse Fundings / Sales

Qualifications :

Applicants should have 1-5 years relevant experience with a degree in a quantitative or technical discipline such as Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or Economics. Candidates must have programming experience (e.g. SQL, Python, etc.) and proficiency in Excel. Applicants should possess excellent communication skills and be organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage competing priorities. Prior experience with residential mortgages is preferred.
