NYU Rory Meyers College of Nursing Assistant Athletic Director, Intramurals, Club Sports and Recreation in New York, New York

Position Summary

Develop long term strategic plans, and administration for the Intramural, Club Sports and Recreation Programs for the Department of Athletics Intramurals, and Recreation. Provide direct managerial oversight of each unit manager’s program area to ensure compliance with stated department policies and procedures. Establish individual program guidelines, develop program timelines, budgets, and space needs. Resolve issues and negotiate solutions or escalate as needed. Ensure that club sports meet all University and league requirements for successful competition and completion of their respective seasons. Recommend recreation course fee structure, and instructor payments; club coach compensation; and intramural officials pay rates. Manage all recreation program registration periods; Intramural sports team registrations, league participation and schedules. Collaborate with the Strategic Communications Office to maintain each unit’s page on the main NYU Athletic Website. Propose updates and amendments to each area’s section in in the main Policies and Procedures Guide. Attend and or supervise select unit events to ensure all details are executed as planned. Conduct post-event, registration period or club team season year end evaluations and recommend future improvements to the AVP/Director of Athletics.

Qualifications

Required Education:

Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Education:

Master's Degree

Required Experience:

5+ years Experience in club sports program administration or related field. Former coach on the intercollegiate of highschool level; recreations or activity coordinator at a sports club, fitness chain, resort or sports camp.

Preferred Experience:

5+ years Related experience in the athletic department of an institional member of the NCAA.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to handle multiple diverse assignments. CPR/AED Certification for the Professional Rescuer.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

Knowledge of intercollegiate sports, NCAA Division I, II or III athletics.
