Sony Corporation of America (SCA) is seeking a seasoned Assistant Director of Tax for the Global Tax Office located in NYC. This position will support the music segment and will report to the Director of Tax.

Prepare/review partnership, corporate and 5471/8858 tax returns for Sony Music Segment
Prepare/review quarterly and annual global income tax provision calculation under ASC740; computation of book to tax differences; tracking of deferred taxes inventory; tax account analysis and reconciliations; effective tax rate reconciliation and other analysis of income tax amounts including preparation of tax-related journal entries for Sony Music Segment
Compute and maintain various tax attributes schedules with focus on state attributes
Prepare tax forecast, budget and cash flow for Sony Music Segment
Compile sub consolidated tax return workpapers for Sony Music Segment prepared tax packages, prepare elections and disclosures for Sony Music entities
Communicate with Sony Music accounting/finance/legal team regularly for any tax related issues
Assist in performing research of all income related tax issues with respect to their impact on Company operations
Assist in any consolidated/combined filing audits; handling of all standalone Federal/State audits
Support continuous improvements in tax provision processes by exercising out of the box thinking to optimize efficiency, including collaboration with internal process transformation team and other tax specialty groups
Proactively manage and maintain provision and compliance deadlines
Assist in special tax projects as needed
Perform other duties as assigned

Requires a Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field and a minimum of 10 years of public accounting and/or corporate tax experience
CPA and/or Masters in Tax preferred
Solid understanding of book and tax accounting and federal and state income tax concepts required
Detail oriented with strong analytical skills
Demonstrated experience prioritizing multiple tasks in a deadline driven environment
Proficient with Excel, MS Word, and Corptax compliance software
Working knowledge of BPC/SAP a plus
Exceptional attention to detail and communication skills
