Assistant Manager, Global Digital Marketing, Clinique

As a member of the Global Consumer Engagement team, the Assistant Manager, Global Digital Marketing, will assist in developing a best-in-class digital marketing function for Clinique globally. This role will support the development of 360 strategy and implementation for global marketing programs, utilizing their media expertise. The Assistant Manager will report directly to the Executive Director of Digital Marketing. The ideal candidate will have experience working on digital marketing programs, knowledge of digital media, demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and a passion for finding unique solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Program Management

  • Support 360 marketing campaign planning – insights- and consumer first-driven – for seasonal, audience-based and always on programs end-to-end. This includes: briefing, gathering requirements, facilitating the creative asset development process and ensuring execution is aligned with brand/category/franchise strategic direction and is adapted to the right platform, target audience and channel.

  • Collaborate with the Executive Director in working closely with regional counterparts to understand and support them with strategic global guidelines (content, media targeting and execution) for programs and best-in-class execution that reinforces the brand’s digital-first approach, omni-channel positioning and media partner best practices.

  • Ensuring all digital experiences, including Social Media, Online and Retail Experience are cohesive and compelling and aligned with digital media best practices.

  • Support the Executive Director in implementing a seamless Consumer Engagement workflow process with other cross-functional teams and working closely with Creative Ops.

  • Work in close collaboration with other departments including Online, Retail / Eventing, Education, Social, PR / Comms, Product Marketing, Creative and Creative Ops. It is extremely important that the candidate can form partnerships and has good communication skills with other departments as Consumer Engagement is the glue within the organization.

Media / Analytics

  • Work closely with the Executive Director to build relationships with our top 10 markets to understand their needs for a comprehensive channel strategy for their acquisition and retention programs. Assist with their development and execution of world class media plans.

  • Assist the Executive Director with monitoring and regularly issuing global digital performance reports working with international markets, social & CRM teams and agencies on collecting results and learnings to optimize future campaigns.

  • Use in-house digital analytics tools to draw insights into Clinique’s digital paid media data: engagement, traffic and sales in order to inform more effective and efficient marketing spend (A&P Optimization, ROI Modeling) and complete specific reports for finance.

  • Stay on top of changing digital behaviors/trends including ad formats and media tactics and complete competitive analyses.

  • Integrate best practice learnings and apply KPI thinking into the planning process of content to ensure best-in-class execution.


  • Candidate should have 3 years of experience

  • Considers him/herself an 'early adopter' of digital trends, and has a passion for digital marketing, innovation and Industry insights

  • Keen understanding of digital industry standards of measurement

  • Strong project management skills, process-orientated and attention to detail

  • Excellent data analytical skills with ability to evaluate marketing programs

  • Innovative and willingness to experiment with new concepts and approaches and comes up with creative solutions to difficult problems

  • Needs to thrive in a fast-paced environment, oversee multiple projects, have attention-to-detail and work well with cross-functional teams

  • Agency, (including partners such as Google or Facebook) or Brand Marketing Experience preferred with experience in Digital Marketing/Consumer Engagement

  • Strong communication skills and can relate to a range of people spanning business to creative to technical discipline

  • College Degree Required
