Assistant Planning Manager, NA Retail Planning & Replenishment

Position Summary:

The Free Standing Store (FSS) Assistant Planning Manager is an exciting opportunity for a highly collaborative, entrepreneurial individual. This person will analytically and strategically support all store planning efforts with particular focus on management and execution of optimal inventory levels for all the FSS in North America. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) timely replenishment of saleable and non-saleable products, forecasting review and exceptions management, store communications and contact, shipment analysis and order processing.

This role will be a highly collaborative; working across functional teams including (but not limited to) brand teams, marketing, operations, information technology as well as on multiple brands. The goal of the role is to ensure optimal levels of inventory, while continuing maintaining the business and suggesting opportunities for improvement that is backed by analysis.

The role will report into the NA replenishment team with tight collaboration with the brand. The FSS Planning Manager will be responsible for identifying and proposing new ideas that drive the business or improve efficiencies. The planner will also need to ensure all documentation of processes remains updated for easy knowledge transfer to colleagues and other brands.

Job Description:

Forecasting & Replenishment 40%

  • Setup Promotional Events in JustEnough (JE) for the year

  • Adjust Just Enough spikes as needed based on recent sales and/or strategic decisions

  • Manage item and/or site supersedes and cannibalization

  • Review forecast exceptions

  • Set up New doors

  • Review Programming Side-By-Side Calendar

  • Prep/attend seasonal Planning meetings with brand team

  • Create FSS content and present at consensus meetings with demand and supply

  • Assist Manager in creating Merchandise Financial Plan (MFP/ Category plans) for their channel

  • Attend corporate meetings (e.g. consensus) on FSS inventory position, key initiatives, etc…

  • Attend monthly collaboration meetings with the brand and cross functional teams

Replenishment Optimization 10%

  • Manage Replenishment Parameters and support replenishment optimization

Inventory Mgmt 20%

  • Review and analyze inventory

  • Perform and propose stock transfers as needed

  • Review Inventory discrepancies and action

  • Plan, Manage, Communicate, and Execute Returns of Goods on discontinued items, and post holiday items

  • Drive excess analysis and execution. Recommend aged out items and work with corp replen teams

  • Maintain regular cadence of meeting with key stakeholders (e.g. brand teams, IS)

  • Primary contact for MAC FSS store managers on inventory questions and concerns

  • Data validation

Order Mgmt & Execution 15%

  • Perform Sales & Inventory analysis

  • Detailed review of OOS

  • Place Opening Order for new doors

  • Review and Analyze Counter SL, investigate as required to determine root cause and recommend solutions

  • Calendarize & review with Sales Ops monthly ship plan for account

Cross Functional Projects 10%

  • Drive internal team & external cross branded projects (e.g. system upgrades, process improvement identification and execution, change management, etc..) based on business strategy & priority

Assortment Mgmt 5%

  • Communicate SRP /SKU edits, timing of disco and RTV requirements due to new season's assortment

  • Ensure JE has the right SKU/Door set up


Requirements & Qualifications:

-Self-starter and ability to work independently

-Fast learner

-Exceptional organizational and time management skills; ability to quickly re-prioritize while still meeting deadlines

-Ability to analyze and review large amount of data in Excel or MS Access

-Collaboration across functional and regional teams

-Ability to succinctly summarize analysis results and recommend solutions for optimizing systems and processes

-Strong math and analytical skills

-Strong understanding of time phased forecasting and replenishment systems and parameters (safety stock, lead time, A/B/C classification, review cycle, etc.)

-Strong communication skills

-Knowledge of inventory models and metrics

-Deep understanding of retail planning and inventory management needs

-Prior experience using forecasting and replenishment systems such as JDA, JustEnough, SAP, I2

-Understanding of retail store operations and planning processes

-Minimum Years of Experience: 2
