Assistant Professor of Public Management

FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

The Austin W. Marxe School of Public and International Affairs at Baruch College invites applications for a tenure track position for an Assistant Professor of Public Management, beginning in August 2025.

The search committee seeks candidates with an active program of scholarly research in fields of public administration and management including, but not limited to,public personnel management; administration and democracy; public administration and law; diversification of the public service and representative bureaucracy; behavioral public administration; organizational leadership; and public-private-nonprofit networked governance. TheMarxe School particularly welcomes candidates withpublic service experience in government and nonprofit organizations. Candidates should have a PhD or other doctorate in public administration or a related field, or be on schedule for dissertation defense by Summer 2025.

The position requires teaching the core graduate-level management course in the Master of Public Administration (MPA) and other professional degrees offered by the Marxe School (Master of Science in Higher Education and Master of International Affairs), as well as in the undergraduate Bachelor of Science in Public Affairs. The position has a reduced teaching load until tenure.

QUALIFICATIONS

The candidate must have completed a doctorate prior to the teaching start date for the Fall 2025 semester. Relevant professional experience in public management is preferred.

COMPENSATION

$90,375-99,532; Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
