The Mount Sinai Health System Assistant Project Manager- Construction-Mount Sinai West- Full Time Days in New York, New York

The Assistant Project Manager (APM) is responsible for managing a portfolio of short and mid-term construction projects for Mount Sinai Health System hospital and non-hospital properties. The Assistant Project Manager works individually on projects up to $1M and as a team member with a more seasoned Project Manager to bring large technically complex projects in on time and within budget while meeting regulatory compliance standards.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Monitors, under the direction of a project manager, every phase of a construction project from inception to sign off within an active hospital environment

  • Effectively assists with the monitoring of contractors’ safety management program including PPE, ILSMs and ICRA

  • Prepares space programs to meet the needs of user departments

  • Effectively assists with the monitoring of the progress of moderate to difficult construction relative to schedule, cost and quality

  • Effectively assists with monitoring construction schedule and budget

  • Minimizes the disruption to hospital patients, staff and service due to construction

  • Reviews bid documents, drawings and coordinates pre-bid activities

  • Coordinates periodic project management meetings with architectural and engineering consultants, contractors, subcontractors and user clients

  • Schedules shut downs, tie-ins ;and in-house activities with engineering

  • Coordinates and schedules work with other departments


  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or combination of applicable facilities experience and

  • Intermediate skills for Microsoft Office Suite

  • Moderate Physical Activity

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $65.00 - $98.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
