CENTURY 21Century 21 the iconic retailer and purveyor of off-price luxury fashion has teamed with Legends to introduce a revitalized shopping experience to the Century 21st faithful local and global fans. This partnership will bring fans of the iconic brand an enhanced shopping experience in-store and online. The re-opened Cortlandt Street location will span the four main floors of the original downtown space and will offer men’s, women’s and children’s designer apparel, footwear, outerwear, handbags accessories and fragrances

Assistant Store Manager - Century 21

As an Assistant Store Manager, you will drive sales and service thru Century 21’s Core Values within your areas of responsibility. All storewide activities related to selling and service, merchandising, store maintenance and execution, expense management, shortage prevention and sales support functions including Human Resources and Visual Merchandising are under your direction. With training, coaching and development, a team of Executives will grow following your leadership.


  • Lead entire store team in absence of the General Manager.

  • Ensure that the “Select Your Best” training is utilized to recruit a qualified team of executives and team members to exceed expectations and build a company bench.

  • Drive sales and achieve monthly, seasonal, and annual performance goals by developing teams and executing strategies.

  • Ensure company profitability through achieving store payroll goals, creating a safe & accident-free workplace, and thoroughly following all shortage prevention directives, including timely audits.

  • Ensure areas of responsibility are guest ready (Replenished, Recovered, always Priced & Signed), and give thorough on the floor leadership with frequent feedback and coaching.

  • Execute a work schedule with MTM manager and teams that includes replenishment coverage for all weekend days.

  • Lead and execute the Century 21 mid-year and annual review process. Conduct ongoing talent analysis of executives and team members to establish career progression plans that supports our core value of “Grow”.

  • Create strong partnerships with Merchant Team to maximize business opportunities as it relates to merchandising, space and stock utilization, and execution of company directives. Be ready to speak of opportunities with merchandise sales, flow, and execution.

  • Lead your portion of the weekly workload planning meeting by keeping the store team informed of workload in your area.

  • Always ensure partnership with the Visual Manager during Merchant Team floor walk.

  • Ensure great business acumen by reviewing and reacting to reports as often as needed. Partner with General Manager, Visual Manager, and Loss Prevention Manager for all moves- major & minor.

  • Interact effectively with key support executives in Operations, Store Merchandising/Visual, Human Resources, and Loss Prevention to elevate overall execution and understanding of company directives.


To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to perform each essential duty above at the highest levels. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Minimum of 4 years of Store Management experience with Big Box, Department Store, or Specialty Store experience.

  • 4-year college degree preferred.

  • Results oriented, passionate, and shows a strong sense of urgency.

  • Strong merchandising skills

  • Ability to build partnerships with all levels of the organization.

  • Ability to train, motivate, and mentor.

  • Demonstrates strong leadership, interpersonal, and communications skills.

  • Demonstrates analytical and problem-solving skills.
