Assistant, Technical Designer

The Assistant Technical Designer provides support for the Close to Body (Intimates) Technical Design team at PVH through basic technical proficiencies and organization. This entails all aspects of our daily operations and functions.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE JOB:

  • Track all protos/ fit samples partnering with Supply Chain Team

  • Sample check-in, measure incoming garments (supported by established blocks), review sample details entering in tech package in preparation for fittings

  • Coordinate fit schedule with Design / Tech Team weekly

  • Attend all fittings and assist the Technical Design team in managing the fit approval process

  • Write up and send Fit Proto comments using WEBPDM / PLM systems to Far East partners – under managers direction and support

  • Engage in daily communication and follow-up with Far East Partners / HUB offices for all Tech related processes

  • Work with Design Team and Tech Team with set up of New Seasonal Development

  • Maintain approval sample storage

  • Assist with creating technical sketches with construction call-outs (based on brand) and fit call-outs.

  • Assist with fit/block and spec research (shop stores with tech team for samples being required for fit projects, grade set-up, etc.)

  • Assist with general daily task management based on need within the Technical Division.

  • Support and partner with TD/Design/GSC/Merchandise/RM teams both in NY and in HUB.

  • Attend cross functional meetings and have relevant information ready for discussion.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Experience:

  • 0-2 years experience in a Technical Design support role (manufacturing wholesale / retail industry)

  • Internship experience is nice to have

  • Understanding of garment construction and sewing techniques

  • Prior intimate apparel experience, a plus

Education: Degree in Technical Design or Patternmaking, preferred

Skills:

  • PC skills including WEB PDM, PLM systems, Excel, Word, Illustrator

  • Experience working in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Strong verbal & written Communication skills with the ability to take on initiatives

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work in a fast paced environment

  • Strong detail orientation and organization, self-motivated team player with interpersonal skills

  • Interest in mathematics, numbers and strong computer skills

RESOURCEFULNESS/CREATIVITY: Must be creative with Technical knowledge having the ability to share ideas by recommendations or problem solving

Pay Range:$60,000 - $75,000

PVH currently provides base salary ranges for all positions-on job advertisements-in the United States based on local requirements. These ranges are based on what PVH reasonably believes that it will pay an associate for their base salary for said position at the time of the posting. Individual compensation will ultimately be determined based on a variety of relevant factors including but-not limited to qualifications, geographic location and other relevant skills.
