RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
Duties: Associate with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in New York, NY. Review financial reports and statements, budgets and forecasts and other financial information, systems of internal controls and procedures, auditing, accounting and financial reporting processes, including as member of portfolio company Audit Committee and including for portfolio companies with public securities. Assist portfolio companies in evaluating and executing changes to their capital structures. Assist portfolio companies in the evaluation, due diligence, and financing structure of acquisition and divestiture activity. Lead sourcing of investment opportunities through attendance at conferences, interactions with other internal and external advisors and meetings with executives across the healthcare industry. Evaluate risks of investment opportunities across the healthcare sector. Recommend debt and equity investments to seasoned Investment Committee. Supervise production of presentation materials for Investment Committee discussions. Negotiate terms and structures of debt and equity investments. Mentor and collaborate with finance professionals (Program Associates, Analysts) in conducting financial analysis for investment decisions and portfolio company management.
Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree (U.S. or equivalent) in a quantitative field such as Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or related field. Four (4) years of experience in the job offered or a related healthcare and consumer retail investment banking position at a major investment bank. Prior experience must include four (4) years: analyzing, evaluating and executing mid and large cap (enterprise value of $500 million and more) buyout transactions in Healthcare and Consumer Retail industries; developing fully integrated cash flow, balance sheet and P&L financial models, including accounting adjustments; developing equity (merger and LBO) and debt transaction models; negotiating transaction documentation such as share purchase agreements, management agreements, Option plans and grants, insurance documentation; and conducting due diligence and in-depth valuation across consumer, retail, healthcare, TMT and industrials industries. Prior experience must include two (2) years: developing complex industry-specific operating models such as Medical Devices, Biopharma, Biotech, Healthcare Services, Healthcare IT with probabilistic scenarios. Travel (10% of time) domestically to meet with portfolio companies, attend board meetings, etc.
