Job Title: Associate, Data Science (Aladdin Engineering)

Job Duties: Lead end-to-end data science projects with a focus on Machine Learning, including close partnership with business stakeholders, model development, explainability, productionizing and offering deliverables such as an API, lead signal, self-service dashboard or pipeline. Use machine learning techniques to help design forward-looking components on client data in conjunction with capital markets datasets to be consumed for business planning and strategy. Use independent judgement and discretion to build data pipelines and other solutions that are proactively aligned with business needs, strategy, and objectives. Develop a deep understanding of the client and product landscape and serve as a subject matter expert and direct liaison to stakeholders. Work with Engineering and Product teams to implement models and insights in production applications used by sales management, strategy, product etc. Participate in the day-to-day operations and culture of the team, including daily stand-ups, weekly brainstorming, code reviews, demos.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field, and three (3) years of experience as an Associate, Analyst, Summer Analyst or related. Must have three (3) years of experience with: mathematical and statistical model and algorithm development; Utilizing NLP techniques to classify unstructured text data into useful features and insights; Writing scalable code, participating in code review and deploying code to production environment; Python, PySpark and SQL for data analysis and modeling; experimental design, including A/B experiments, and statistical methods; performing model and algorithm development using machine learning techniques. Hadoop stack (HIVE, Pig, Hadoop streaming) and Spark.

For New York City only: The salary range for this position is $150,500 - $152,500. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
