PVH Corp. Associate Designer, Non-Apparel CK Jeans - CALVIN KLEIN in New York, New York

The Associate Designer will support the CKJ Accessories design team during all stages of the design process across all categories: Women’s bags, small leather goods, belts, soft accessories and hats.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE JOB:

Research color, concept, material and silhouette at the start of each season (4)

  • Sketch by hand

  • Create and update lifesize specs in Adobe Illustrator

  • Layout artwork and make CADs in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator

  • Fill out detail sheets and make corrections to samples

  • Maintain seasonal color palettes

  • Communicate with our PD partners in NY, China and Amsterdam

  • Keep sample closets and presentations spaces organized

  • Assist designers with various tasks as needed

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Experience:

  • 2-5 years in accessory design

Education:

  • Bachelor degree in design, preferably fashion design or industrial design

Skills:

  • High efficiency and time management skills

  • Excellent hand sketching abilities

  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator

  • Self motivated with the ability to work as part of a team

  • Flexible to work long hours and weekends when necessary to meet deadlines

  • Posses high fashion aesthetic and understanding of the accessories market

  • Willingness and ability to travel
