Join our winning Design team as an Associate Designer to support the design and development of Jockey diversified women’s and men’s products! Based at our New York City (Manhattan) design office, this role will embody our company's values by taking pride in our brand, providing innovation product design and practices to our rich heritage and iconic JOCKEY brand!

Job Scope:

  • Design product with flat sketches, technical design drawings, and tech packs for style development. Interpret design concepts from Design Director into new product designs.

  • Select and develop fabric, trims, elastics, and branding elements.

  • Partner with cross-category teams (e.g. women’s and men’s underwear, activewear, etc.) to optimize brand alignment. Collaborate closely with our internal Merchandising teams to build and grow businesses. Partner with Pattern/Color teams to compose seasonal color palettes and prints.

  • Attend fittings and collaborate with Technical Design team to send garment and workmanship comments on fit samples.

  • Create and maintain design collection Line Sheets/CADs.

  • Set up initial proto tech packs and communicate new products with cross-functional teams.

  • Work in PLM system throughout design process and responsible for BOMs & sketches.

  • Organize and prepare packages for factories and cross-functional teams; communicate with suppliers and factory teams on an ongoing basis.

  • Research domestic market to identify new assortment opportunities and merchandise trends.

  • Participate in weekly meetings to gain understanding of each business and its priorities.

  • Prepare working tools for meetings; organize and maintain proto to production samples.

    Candidate Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, or related field required.

  • Minimum of 4-5 years apparel design experience with strong knowledge of fabrics and trims and a solid understanding of the design process.

  • Strong flat sketching skills in Adobe Illustrator and experience recoloring prints in Photoshop.

  • Proven creative and innovative design ability with strong color sense. Ability to work on print colorways, and put into repeat.

  • Solid understanding of product construction (e.g., finishes, fabrics, hardware, stitches, and safety requirements).

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

  • Proficient in Excel. Solid working experience with MS-Office.

  • Some experience working in a PLM system a plus (preferably NGC PLM).


The selected candidate must be energetic and a creative thinker, as well as an assertive and confident member of the Design team. This individual should be able to work extended hours as needed to meet goals and deadlines; occasional travel may be required.
