Position Summary:

The Associate Social Media Director is responsible for developing strategy and creative direction to drive flawless, high impact and timely execution of all social media programs developed in collaboration with the Creative and DTC functions and reports directly to the SVP of Brand Communications.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement and optimize social media marketing strategy, managing the Social Media Associate to deliver brand right social campaigns that deliver against predetermined KPIs.

  • Provide thought leadership on emerging social media tactics and opportunities, including delivering on-time social insights to drive campaigns that deliver on company goals and that engage and excite a wider range of qualified consumers to the brand.

  • Conceive social media campaigns (by channel), ensuring that all social media best practices and tactics are fully integrated into the annual master marketing plan, key brand initiatives, and seasonal campaigns.

  • Cultivate effective partnerships between functional area directors and team members. Collaborate and ideate with cross-functional teams to develop integrated social media marketing plans.

  • Lead the development of team members to create an environment that encourages active participation, creativity, accountability, and team work with paths for advancement and improvement.

  • Direct and implement proper controls to ensure that social media marketing initiatives are implemented in a timely manner, either meeting or exceeding brand expectations.

  • Analyze departmental reports and relevant analyses in order to make strategic and tactical decisions.

Education: Bachelor degree in Journalism, Communication or Media Studies or related fields preferred.

Required Skills

Required Experience:

  • 6-8+ years of related work experience within fashion/design through in-house branded social media experience or women's lifestyle blog space.

  • Self-starter who can proactively drive their responsibilities and deliverables forward on strategy, on brand, on time and within budget.

  • Consumer marketing for lifestyle brands is a must.

  • Understanding of how to reach a multi-generational audience, with a focus on Generation X and Millennials.

  • Experience leading initiatives and working seamlessly with cross-functional teams.

  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills.

  • Intermediate knowledge of social media tools.

  • Basic knowledge of video and photo editing tools
