Job Description

The Associate Director, Strategy plays a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction for our clients and contributing to the agency's vision for the strategy product. This position involves working closely with assigned clients and supporting new business initiatives. The Associate Director, Strategy is a seasoned leader with the ability to contribute to brand strategy, foster strong client relationships across all levels and functions, and mentor and guide team members in strategic thinking. This role is recognized as an expert in digital media strategy fundamentals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Stay updated on the latest developments in the media industry and brand business, including historical perspectives, with a focus on upstream initiatives.

  • Lead the development of strategic approaches that address consumer, brand, and business challenges or opportunities.

  • Proactively champion and elevate strategic thinking across a portfolio of brands and lead projects as an owner rather than an advisor.

  • Guide and support the team in conducting data analysis to uncover insights related to business, consumers, and brands, using syndicated and proprietary data resources.

  • Present insights in a clear and data-driven manner, identifying actionable insights and tensions.

  • Drive innovation and thought leadership, both as an asset for new business and within the agency to provide modern marketing solutions to our clients.

  • Craft and deliver strategies and point of views (POVs), and oversee the translation of these strategies into final recommendations.

  • Provide vision, direction, management, and support to team members to ensure their work aligns with the agency's mission and goals.

  • Be well-versed in commonly used and emerging insight tools, media technology, channels, and industry terminology.

  • Establish collaborative relationships with other agency capabilities, partner agency teams, and third parties as necessary.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in advertising, marketing, business, psychology, or a related field; a graduate degree is preferred.

  • 7-9 years of experience in digital media planning and strategy, with progressively increasing responsibilities.

  • 3+ years of previous management experience.

  • Proficiency in strategically planning campaigns to align with clients' strategic goals and key performance indicators (KPIs).

  • Experience in pitching with a proven track record.

  • Expertise across various media types, including national, local, digital, direct, programmatic, and shopper marketing.

  • Ability to anticipate and quickly assess continually changing client needs and adapt resources and strategies accordingly.

  • Strong written and verbal communication, presentation, organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skills.

  • Ability to translate data into practical business solutions to enhance strategies and meet deliverables.

  • Strong leadership skills to motivate and guide the team towards achieving results.

Additional Information

Compensation Range: $98,500 - $154,500 annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time.
