The opportunity:
The Associate Editor, Analytic Services (AE-AS) will join the HBR Analytic Services team, which writes, edits, and manages various types of thought leadership reports of varying lengths and subjects. The role will be involved with all stages of client-driven research projects-ideation, reporting, writing, editing, launch, analysis, and publishing. The Associate Editor-AS will write reports, assist the AS editorial team with editing contributing writers, learn HBR's formats including white papers and research reports, work closely with HBR AS's project managers, take on AS editorial and databasing projects, interface with clients, and be a key contributor to the performance of this growing product portfolio.

What you'll do:

Research and write reports
Assist in editing reports being written by others and troubleshoot reporting and writing problems of contributing writers when the need arises
Interface with the HBR AS research team on surveys that accompany reports (either self-written or involving contributing writers)
Interface with clients in meetings
Help coordinate AS editorial delivery with HBR AS project managers
Aid the AS editorial team in copyediting and proofreading reports
Provide help when necessary on webinars and other product extensions
Assist in databasing HBR AS reports

What we're looking for:

Four-year degree in journalism, English, or communications
At least three years' experience as a long-form features writer for a publication, or as a thought-leadership writer for a research or consulting firm (coverage of digital transformation, analytics, and artificial intelligence a plus but not necessary)
Some editing experience and a desire to accumulate more
Zest for reporting and research (experience designing surveys and questionnaires a plus but not necessary)
Ability to work proactively with a team to brainstorm and to identify and solve challenges
Experience in multitasking and meeting deadlines
Excellent organizational and verbal and written communication skills
Ability and willingness to collaborate with clients, contributors, and teammates, sometimes under pressure, to produce the best possible result
Experience with incorporating data and analysis into the writing process
Experience copyediting and proofreading
Multimedia experience or training, such as work with webinars, is a plus but not necessary.
Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud is a plus but not necessary.
