The Job

The Associate Manager, Affiliate Partnerships will be responsible for growing the affiliate relationships of the Commerce team, which includes CNN Underscored, CNN Coupons, and other affiliate driven business models. As our content output increases, we are looking to grow revenue for our 500+ merchant partners as well as expand our current portfolio through new vertical expansion and unique partnership opportunities.

The Daily

Outside of working with merchant partners, the Associate Manager, Affiliate Partnerships will collaborate with Business and Editorial team members to secure new partnerships, manage existing relationships, and optimize content for further monetization.

  • Manage the Commerce team’s merchant relationships through affiliate platforms for inclusion in reviews and recommendations, coupons, and other affiliate operations.

  • Coordinate with editorial team to enhance content offering and optimize article performance by analyzing historical and real-time performance data provided by affiliate platforms.

  • Identify, recruit, and onboard new affiliate partners by adapting to content needs, observing industry trends, and studying audience behavior.

  • Secure and negotiate commission increases with affiliate partners through seasonal events, content opportunities, and strategic initiatives.

The Essentials

  • 3 years’ experience in digital marketing, sales or related field

  • Affiliate marketing experience preferred

  • Candidates should be passionate about the digital space, self-motivated, able to multitask, and function in a fast paced, high-volume environment

  • Comfortable in a performance-based sales role where securing new revenue is critical to achieving the team’s objectives

  • A competent public speaker with the ability to present to small and large groups

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, marketing, communications, or related field.

  • Competency in Microsoft suite of tools (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
