Macmillan Associate Marketing Manager, FSG in New York, New York

Description

Farrar, Straus and Giroux (FSG), a division of Macmillan, seeks an Associate Marketing Manager to join our team, working across the FSG, MCD and Picador lists. We are looking for an experienced media buyer to join our team. In this role you will be responsible for end-to-end campaign management from negotiation, campaign set up, execution and reporting. The Associate Marketing Manager will also be responsible for managing our extensive awards program, overseeing the seasonal catalogs and handling sales communications.

In addition to working with FSG, MCD and Picador’s publicity and marketing teams, you will work closely with our sales team, outside designers, outside vendors and advertising partners. This role will report into the Associate Director of Marketing for FSG & Picador.

The ideal candidate must have excellent organization and negotiation skills and be able to work in a fast-paced deadline driven environment.

What you'll do:

  • Oversee the extensive awards program, handling submissions, maintaining relationships with awards staff and communicating with the publication team

  • Buy media and negotiate ad rates across digital, audio, print, and outdoor outlets

  • Handle the creation of promotional items from negotiation to successful delivery

  • Work closely with ad outlets to traffic assets on time and manage campaigns

  • Analyze campaign results and distill campaign metrics to internal stakeholders

  • Research new advertising outlets and develop relationships with them

  • Provide support for special projects, as they arise

What you'll bring:

  • Excellent organization skills and ability to prioritize workload

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Ability to use, understand, analyze a variety of advertising analytics tools and databases

  • Ability to collaborate with multiple teams concurrently

  • Working knowledge of analytics applications such as Google Analytics or Adobe Omniture a plus

    Experience Needed:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in advertising or marketing

  • Knowledge of publishing industry a plus

  • Agency experience a plus
