Nature Medicine, the premier journal for translational and clinical research in the Nature Portfolio, publishing original magazine and peer-reviewed research in all areas of medicine on the basis of its originality, timeliness, interdisciplinary interest and impact on improving human health.
Our team is growing and we are seeking a highly motivated individual, with strong interest in clinical and health sciences, and ability to think critically and across a range of topics. They will be working on a range of projects aimed at strengthening the journal's position with the translational and clinical communities. These include soliciting primary research content in areas of strategic priority, handling clinical research manuscripts, developing new types of front-half content, organizing events and engaging on key stakeholders in commission-type projects.
This position is open to candidates with expertise in any area of clinical and translational medicine. Flexibility and interest for learning about new topics outside your comfort zone are key requirements.
To be considered for the position, you will have:
A PhD (or equivalent) in an area relevant to medicine.
Strong interest in clinical and health research.
Be able to demonstrate the breadth of your interest in scientific research, both within and beyond your specialty.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be fluent in English (written and spoken).
The ability to read and assess the novelty, context and implications of research submitted to the journal from different areas of this discipline.
Be eager to travel and meet scientists worldwide, learn more about them and their research, and help them learn more about us and what we are looking for in the papers we seek to publish.
Be comfortable with working in a fast-paced collaborative environment - team spirit is essential.
Track-record of working on DEI-related projects is a plus.
Previous editorial experience with clinical or translational content is required for candidates to a Senior position.

Annualized Base Salary Range: Associate Editor $74,000 - $91,000 Senior $91,000 - $105,000. The salary offer may vary based on work experience, education and skill level.
