Practising Law Institute Associate Producer, Marketing in New York, New York

This role requires daily communications with internal departments and external champions and vendors who may also play a role in various initiatives. In addition, the Associate Producer will support the creation and implementation of videos required by Human Resources for online recruitment-focused needs and other internal staff training and professional development.

Your responsibilities as Associate Producer, Marketing

Original Content creation

  • Create and implement original content to educate customers, members, prospects and prospective employees about PLI products, services and organization, including but not limited to:

  • Partnering with the Programs Department to create content that leverages our volunteer faculty

  • Partnering with HR on both recruitment-focused content and employee engagement content and repurpose for marketing initiatives

  • Partnering with Pro Bono on original content that can educate customers about our pro bono mission and its impact

  • Partnering with Membership Services, continue to create original content for the PD Center and explore other critical opportunities, and repurpose these for other marketing efforts

  • Partnering with ILC and Marketing Manager to develop original content a unique marketing strategy

  • Partnering with Publications team to create original content to promote PLI Press and PLI PLUS and the authors/titles

  • Partnering with Website team to create original content to help users navigate the website and associated tools, such as Credit Tracker

Content Strategy Development

  • Apply strategic planning principles to identify best opportunities to launch potential new initiatives that align with PLI’s business objectives and customer needs

  • Gather key business and user insight while assessing mission-alignment, market demand and bandwidth

  • Contribute ideas to better strengthen Customer Journeys, especially as relates to how the produced audio and video content can begin to replace the written word in emails and social media efforts

  • Working across the department and organization, bring a data-driven approach to the role, understand engagement of produced content and recommend adjustments if necessary

  • Create and maintain a status report to manage and communicate elements of all projects and discuss status at weekly marketing meetings

  • Stay abreast of PLI marketing technologies and, as appropriate, help envision potential new customer journeys and campaigns; and, as needed, recommend, learn and implement additional technologies to better improve internal and external projects and processes

Video Profiles

  • Create video profiles of key faculty/authors/programs we want to highlight and enable use of them in marketing campaigns

  • In alignment with differentiators separating PLI from its competition, create short-form style videos that help tell the PLI story: how a program is created, the (PLI) life of a credit etc.

  • These profiles will be illustrative of modern interview style and creative video editing techniques

Customer/ Business facing initiatives

  • Support Producer, Marketing who is Product Owner for PLI’s Intranet to help ensure optimal design so as to make it easier to navigate

  • Support Producer, Marketing who is Product Owner for PLI’s YouTube Channel to help enhance PLI’s brand and drive awareness of products and services

  • Support Producer, Marketing in all assigned projects and endeavors, from podcast production to video interview production and cross-train with Producer in all areas

Other duties, as assigned.

Qualified candidates will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required

  • 3-5 years of experience required

  • Familiarity with the Adobe Creative Suite, especially Premiere Pro

  • Adobe Audition and After Effects are a plus

  • Proficiency in a variety of recording environments, including both in-person and remote audio-video recording, and be familiar with all standard recording equipment

  • Basic, working knowledge of recording equipment (lights, camera, sound) with the ability to set it up for use

  • Previous experience using SharePoint or updating Intranet pages is preferred.

  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written are a must

  • Ability to strategically manage multiple projects with competing deadlines while remaining organized

  • Proficient MS Office skills
