Roles & Responsibilities:
We are seeking applications for a Research Technician working in the research groups of Bin Zhang and Daniel Wacker at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, Manhattan, New York. Employment will commence in the Summer/Fall of 2022.
The position is for a 1-2+ year research project on characterization and discovery of drugs for Alzheimer’s Disease and other disorders. Duties will include sterile cell culture, heterologous protein expression in insect and mammalian cells, protein purification, as well as assay development, and drug screening.
Bachelors degree in science or related field required.
0-2 year of research/laboratory experience
Appropriate verbal, written and interpersonal skills
Organizational, problem solving and analytical skills
Effective collaboration with several labs from different research areas is required. Experience in mammalian and insect cell culture, and/or protein expression and purification is an advantage.
