NATA certification; NYS athletics trainers license required
1-3 years' experience as an athletics trainer
Must be a Certified Athletic Trainer
First Aid, CPR, AED certified
Experience or certification with Strength and Conditioning programs
Skills & Competencies:
Ensure reliability in Athletic Training coverage, and since we are required by the NCAA and Skyline Conference to have an Athletic Trainer at every home event, a full-time Athletic Trainer will allow us to properly plan for our home events.
Currently, many of the injuries our student-athletes incur are a result of a lack of proper strength and condition since our athletic training coverage is on a per diem basis. An Athletic Trainer will allow for consistent monitoring of our student-athletes, the imposition of a strength and conditioning program, and a continuation of the current model of injury treatment.
Will allow for the development of lines of communication between the Athletic Department and doctors when more serious injuries occur. These lines of communication are essential for both the treatment of existing injuries and the prevention of relapses of these injuries. Currently, very little communication exists between the Athletics Department and medical professional because of our per diem model.
