Citigroup AVP, Balance Sheet Management Senior Analyst in New York, New York

Treasury’s Balance Sheet Management (“BSM”) unit’s responsibilities cover 4 key areas:

Asset Liabilitiy Management: ALM group is responsible for developing optimal strategy , quantitative analytics and models to support the management of the firm's assets and liabilities.

Capital management and Portfolio Analytics:Capital Management group is responsible for building startergy to execture capital decision like dividends, share repurchase

Costing the Balance Sheet: Leading refinements in the design of Citigroup’s Transfer Pricing, Liquidity Premium and Capital Allocation frameworks to incentivize optimal use of Citi’s financial resources

Asset Allocation: Leading the analysis of / investment strategy for optimizing Citi’s $500bn+ global liquidity portfolios.

Opportunities are available in the following areas: Asset Liability Management, Capital Management, Fund transfer Pricing, Asset Allocation

The Balance Sheet Mgmt Sr. Analyst is a seasoned professional role. Applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge, contributing to the development of new techniques and the improvement of processes and work-flow for the area or function. Integrates subject matter and industry expertise within a defined area. Requires in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the function and overall business. Evaluates moderately complex and variable issues with substantial potential impact, where development of an approach/taking of an action involves weighing various alternatives and balancing potentially conflicting situations using multiple sources of information. Requires good analytical skills in order to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex and dynamic material from multiple sources. Strong communication and diplomacy skills are required. Regularly assumes informal/formal leadership role within teams. Involved in coaching and training of new recruits Significant impact in terms of project size, geography, etc. by influencing decisions through advice, counsel and/or facilitating services to others in area of specialization. Work and performance of all teams in the area are directly affected by the performance of the individual.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic thinking: Participating and contribute in BSM team's problem-solving sessions in support of strategic business decision making

  • Advanced analytics: Build advanced data analytics model and perform to support Balance Sheet decisions

  • Stakeholder management and communication: Build and maintain relationships with different stakeholders and partners

  • Project management: Following up on project next steps, proactively raising issues, and offering recommendations for potential solutions to immediate work streams

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of relevant experience working in financial services

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative-focused discipline

  • Understanding of technology and using technology-led solutions to implement automated analytics and reporting

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, oral and written

  • High energy, self-starter with a flexible and pragmatic attitude and a desire to show continued progress

  • Broad knowledge of financial instruments and products

  • Analytical background with problem solving skills

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint and Word)

  • Good understanding of Programming languages like VBA, Python, R, SQL etc.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong quantitative and presentation skills, with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Power Point, Microsoft Excel, and Access,

  • Ability to work with large volumes of data leveraging spreadsheets and models.

  • Prior experience in programming languages like VBA, Python, R, SAS etc

Education:

  • Bachelors degree
