LEGENDS ATTRACTIONS
Global Attractions is the newest business vertical and is quickly expanding. Starting with One World Observatory sitting high above Manhattan at the top of the tallest building in the Western hemisphere and now expanding all over the world, the Attractions vertical brings together all of Legends 360-degree capabilities to develop unparalleled experience in one awe-inspiring space, featuring some of the most spectacular views and newest technology around the world. For each location, we operate the tour experience, ticket sales, hospitality offerings, special events, and sponsorship - all to elevate the guest experience at the top. Some of the venues include One World Observatory in NYC, OUE Skyspace in LA, The Observation Deck at CEB Tower, The View at the Shard in London, Sky View Observatory in Seattle, Skyrise Miami, and more.
ONE WORLD OBSERVATORY
Positioned at the top of One World Trade Center, the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere, on levels 100, 101, and 102 – One World Observatory provides guests with unique, panoramic views of New York City, its most iconic sites, and surrounding waters from 1,250 feet. A customized guest experience complements the seemingly endless views - which evoke feelings of the City’s signature pride, hope and determination - including special interactive experiences and dining options, plus a sit-down restaurant.
In 2016, One World Observatory received awards and recognition from the Concierge Choice Awards (Winner: Tourist Attraction), Themed Entertainment Association (Thea Awards for Outstanding Achievement), TripAdvisor (Top U.S. Trending Summer Attraction), and Lonely Planet (Favorite Online Listing).
THE ROLE
The Tour Ambassador is a dynamic, interactive role within the Observatory with a specific focus on the guest experience and how the guest relates to the Observatory experience. This position reports directly to the Senior Operations Manager.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Greet guests as they enter assigned areas
Ensure safety of our guests while waiting on tour or in assigned areas
Provide facts and historical information about the city, visible landmarks, pointing out features of interest and answering questions
Conduct in-depth, specialized talks and walking tours of the Observatory
Provide a high level of customer service for the guest, resolving issues and referring issues to a supervisor as necessary to ensure a pleasant experience
Create and prepare specified tour material as needed
Perform and present information in a concise, legible manner to our guests – must be able to speak loudly and clearly and hold a commanding presence
Work non-traditional hours, nights, weekends, and holidays -- as necessary
Perform other duties as necessary or required by management
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to perform each essential duty above at thehighest levels. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required:
Bachelor’s Degree
Minimum 2-4 years tour guide or related experience, preferably in an attraction, entertainment or hospitality environment
High level of demonstrated professionalism and customer service
NYC Tour Guide license preferred
Multilingual (incl. Spanish) a plus
Excellent written and verbal skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point) – an interest and proficiency in interactive presentations and social media a plus
Quick learner with ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
Entrepreneurial spirit, energetic and outgoing personality with a creative, and a proactive approach to work
Existing knowledge of NYC history and familiarity with NYC landmarks preferred
COMPENSATION
$25/hour + a generous benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, paid vacation, and 401(k) plan.
