The Business Technology Services Operations Lead is responsible for coordinating all the activities within BTS Insurance (NA and Global) that align to operationalizing the delivery of M&E and strategic projects within the Insurance portfolio. The Portfolio Manager must be very influential over all project/maintenance teams, even if they do not fall in their line of command. The Portfolio Manager reports to the CIO of Insurance.

The Business Technology Solutions Operations Lead reports directly to the Insurance CIO as a critical member of the leadership team and is responsible for coordinating and reporting on all the activities within BTS Insurance (North America and Global) to support the delivery of Maintenance, Enhancement and Strategic Projects within the Insurance portfolio.

This person should have excellent communications and organizational skills, and be able to work throughout the organization to consolidate, analyze, and report on key data metrics to assist the CIO in the executive decision making.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with the Insurance CIO to operationalize the BTS Insurance portfolio of work. Coordinate with the Delivery Leads and Project Managers for both NA and Global organizations to provide a consolidated view of the portfolio, to include M&E and Strategic Projects. Manage the teams to align to multiple management and SteerCo meetings and other operational due dates.

  • Coordinate all information for the resource and capacity planning process across the insurance portfolio for M&E and Strategic Projects, validating input and updates from project managers, portfolio managers and technical leads. Support the Insurance CIO in performing financial and operational metrics variance analysis. and explanations for variances to plan BTS Finance in the annual budgeting and forecasting process explanations for variances to plan. Review consolidated M&E and strategic project portfolio and provide insightful analysis. Work with business partners to develop IT cost allocations to insurance products.

  • Work with IT Finance and PM Center of Excellence to validate and consolidate Actual Cost / Resource Capacity Reports. Responsible for ensuring the BTS Insurance resource portfolio is accurately maintained and current in multiple corporate systems – PWA, Active Directory, Vendor Management, WorkDay.

  • Directory, Vendor Management, WorkDay.

  • Manage agenda, distribution of updates and execution of weekly staff meetings and monthly all employee meetings.

  • Develop strategic and business reporting documents for executive meetings.

  • Respond to ad hoc requests from CIO.

  • Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 5 or more years’ experience withoperations, project or program management, and/or financial analysis Experiencein the P&C Insurance industry preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Finance or other related discipline

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills combined with strong communication and planning and organizational abilities

  • Ability to facilitate, collaborate, influence and drive resolution across different stake holders within a matrixed organization

  • Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently throughout the organization on a regular basis

  • Ability to adapt quickly to fast-paced environment and prioritize work to meet tight deadlines

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
