PVH Corp. Buyer, Accessories (Handbags, SLGs, Belts) - Tommy Hilfiger in New York, New York

As a strategic key buyer on the Accessories Merchandising Team, the ideal candidate should possess strong financial acumen, have a keen product eye that ties back to the Tommy Hilfiger DNA, and is comfortable presenting his or her strategy to the executive team.

Responsibilities:

  • Understands financial metrics to analyze businesses & can make recommendations on how to drive the business based on sales, history & market trends

  • Partners with planning to align on targets to execute the seasonal plans & tie back to the merchandise strategies

  • Leads the team to drive results at the department level. Provides timely direction and clean communication to all team members. Builds relationships through effective collaboration & participles as a solution oriented team member

  • Exhibits leadership capability & can motivate & mentor team members at different levels. Possesses the ability to manage up, down and across with results

  • Ability to develop & drive dept strategies. Analyzes LY info. as well as current market to support strategy development. Identifies how current trend will impact future results and adjusts as needed

  • Works in partnership with design and 3rd party licensees to edit and assort the line, ensuring product supports dept strategies and falls within brand aesthetic

  • Partners with visual to communicate big ideas, key investments, strategies & special needs

  • Understands competitive set, including pricing, style & key messaging and uses knowledge to make sound recommendations for depts

  • Coaches and develops associate and assistant merchants ensuring growth and developments for next level position

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Fashion Merchandising

  • Experience in Apparel or Accessories Merchandising/Buying

  • 4-5 years related merchandising/ buying experience

  • 1-2 years of experience managing at least 1 direct report

  • Demonstrated leadership and management experience

  • Strong analytic skills

  • Motivation to exceed plan

  • Financial analysis capability

  • Ability to manage direct reports and drive results through others

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong financial and planning skills.

  • A demonstrated sense of design and understanding of how to consistently convey our brand to the consumer

  • Ability to work in high energy environment with changing priorities
