About the role

Intermix is looking for a multi-brand, omni-channel Buyeroverseeing Footwear and Handbags to join our HQ team based in New York City. You will be tasked with driving merchandising strategies, assortment planning,vendor management, open-to-buy monitoring, pricing, cost negotiations, andinventory management to achieve sales and profitability targets for yourspecific category. The ideal candidate will have experience developing andmotivating a team, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration andentrepreneurialism.

What you'll do

  • Develop and implement e-commerce andretail store-specific merchandising strategies to maximize sales and grossmargin targets for footwear and handbag departments

  • Drive 360-degree merchandisingstrategy to maximize sales and gross margin targets for Footwear and Handbagdepartments online and in retail stores

  • Collaborate with Planning andcross-functional teams on analysis and assortment planning to achieve financialplans

  • Manage and react to OTB to drivebusiness: ensure sales, turn, margin and markdown and inventory levels are ontarget

  • Manage vendor profitability vianegotiations and strengthen market relationships

  • Manage the business in seasonthrough in-season analysis and tactical adjustments

  • Oversee the timely placement andmaintenance of purchase orders

  • Identify new vendors and businessopportunities in the market place and refine brand matrix

  • Monitor the competition and customerby market

  • Participate in line reviews toensure brand cohesiveness and competitive assortments

  • Translate fashion trends intoappropriate assortments for the Intermix customer

  • Train and develop Assistant Buyer

  • Contribute to positive morale in thedepartment and organization

Who you are

  • Bachelor's degree in business or equivalent related work experience

  • 5+ years progressive buying experience for a multi-vendor luxury focused background

  • Experience in e-commerce, with strong vendor partnerships in Contemporary/Luxury Footwear and Handbags

  • Footwear experience required

  • Proven track record of success and ability to drive a business

  • Proven ability to create product assortments to meet customer needs

  • Strong business and financial analysis skills

  • Keen fashion sense and trend forecasting ability

  • Excellent communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills

  • Demonstrated managerial and leadership abilities

  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally when required
