The Venue : Legends is the official hospitality partner for the food service areas at the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum, a premier tourism destination in the heart of New York City. The partnership includes a grab and go concept with a variety of fresh food offerings and a full quick service restaurant. With the opportunity of serving up to 10,000 guests 363 days a year, Legends has created a culture of fast and friendly service at the Intrepid.

Primary Position Purpose : Cashiers are responsible for timely, efficient, and accurate cash and credit card transactions and reporting. Additionally, cashiers will also be responsible for setting-up, maintaining and cleaning their workstation.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the delivery of all orders taken

  • Practice good standards for service, sanitation, and product and food quality

  • Responsible for securing payment for all transactions taken

  • Ability to interact with co-workers in order to assure compliance with company service standards, inventory, and cash control procedures

  • Develop and enforce standards for service, sanitation, and product and food quality

  • Ability to interact with co-workers in order to assure compliance with company service standards, inventory, and cash control procedures

  • Provide exceptional customer service at all times

Requirements:

  • All applicants must be at least 18 years of age

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

  • At least one (1) year cashier experience or three months experience in a high-volume facility

  • Strong attention to detail and extremely organized with elevated time management and prioritizing skills

  • Must meet state and city health requirements for food handling and alcoholic beverage service

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, team-orientated setting

  • Must be able to effectively communicate with management and staff

  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 30 pounds up and down stairs

  • Must be flexible to work extended hours due to business requirements including late nights, weekends and holidays

  • Must have sufficient mobility to perform assigned production tasks including: constant reaching, bending, stooping, wiping, pushing, and pulling for extended periods of time

  • Practice safe work habits, follow all safety policies and procedures and regulations, complete company-wide safety training and additional job specific safety training
