CONCESSIONS CASHIER – The Intrepid: Sea, Air and Space Museum (New York, New York)

The Concessions Cashier is responsible for providing quick and efficient service to customers and a variety of duties relating to fast food-style service including cold food preparation, stocking counters and steam table, and maintaining sanitation standards.

  • Relays relevant comments received from customers directly to supervisor

  • Maintains a professional attitude and appearance

  • Complies with sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness and maintenance of kitchen and/or serving areas

  • Greets customers and take their orders. May give orders to cook or punch keys of register that records the order and computes the amount of the bill

  • Checks orders to ensure that guest is receiving a complete and correct order

  • Collects payment from guest and makes change

  • Conforms to the regulations of the alcohol beverage authority


  • Must be 18 years or older

  • Must be able to perform simple mathematical calculations

  • Food and Beverage experience a plus

  • Able to work flexible hours (days, evenings, weekends, holidays)

  • Able to work under pressure

  • Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills

  • Able to stand for long periods of time

  • Team Player

  • NY Food Safety Certification a plus

  • Practice safe work habits, follow all safety policies and procedures and regulations, complete company-wide safety training and additional job specific safety training
