Citigroup Citi Alliance Sr Analyst in New York, New York

The Business Sr. Analyst is a seasoned professional role. Applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge, contributing to the development of new techniques and the improvement of processes and work-flow for the area or function. Integrates subject matter and industry expertise within a defined area. Requires in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the function and overall business. Evaluates moderately complex and variable issues with substantial potential impact, where development of an approach/taking of an action involves weighing various alternatives and balancing potentially conflicting situations using multiple sources of information. Requires good analytical skills in order to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex and dynamic material from multiple sources. Strong communication and diplomacy skills are required. Regularly assumes informal/formal leadership role within teams. Involved in coaching and training of new recruits Significant impact in terms of project size, geography, etc. by influencing decisions through advice, counsel and/or facilitating services to others in area of specialization. Work and performance of all teams in the area are directly affected by the performance of the individual.

Responsibilities:

  • Project Management support of business risk and control oversight and other large global strategic initiatives

  • Management reporting of business intelligence and other key Investments initiatives

  • Data Collection and evaluation

  • Design and provide day-to-day support to management in the form of ad hoc analysis stretch assignments as needed

  • Coordinating work streams that focus on data, technology, product initiatives

  • Assembly, development and structuring of presentation decks

  • Development and management of strategic solutions for a group under rapid development and offers exposure to senior management and positions the successful candidate for progression within the group or to a position inside one of other organizations depending on experience

  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

  • 5-8 years relevant experience

  • Required skills include project management, quantitative aptitude, and the ability to effectively synthesize and communicate complex business issues through concise presentation skills.

  • Good interpersonal skills to oversee cross disciplinary work streams.

  • Extensive project management and strategic analysis experience.

  • Interest and experience in the financial services industry, in particular in the areas of technology and data mining.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience, Masters degree preferred

The Citi Alliance Sr Analyst reports into the Head of Citi Alliance US Partnerships Lead. This role is responsible for partnering with Sales teams, Product teams, Operations and Technology teams and Control Partners to deliver solutions that will directly impact the growth of the Citi Alliance business. The analyst will work with the head of Citi Alliance US Partnerships Lead to accomplish this by assessing market requirements, identifying, and prioritizing key capabilities for Registered Investment Advisor’s (RIAs) and Asset Managers, developing presentations, formulating project activities and coordinating with key functional partners to support implementation.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategy –

  • Assist in gathering feedback from RIAs and asset management firms on their client needs related to help drive overall Citi Alliance strategy.

  • Support in conduct of field interviews and surveys to assess current state capabilities and requirements.

  • Synthesize feedback from Consultants and industry data providers to enrich strategy and evolution of the platform.

  • Support in development of communication materials, launch and training

Value proposition

  • Assist in development of Citi Alliance value proposition and develop Citi Alliance strategy and outline core capabilities.

  • Support testing of project offerings that appeal to Citi Alliance clients and customize solutions as needed to maximize value proposition.

  • Support in competitive analysis and identify platform enhancements to support client requirements and enhance differentiation in value proposition.

Product offerings

  • Support in development of business case and ensure stakeholder buy-in on key initiatives and product offerings.

  • Formulate documentation of product programs and obtain necessary approvals as needed.

  • Develop detailed work plans and manage expectations around time-line and delivery to clients, sales teams and support functions.

Technology

  • Assist in development of requirements for solution development / project initiatives.

  • Develop detailed technology requirements around product launch capabilities required to support both clients and products.

  • Participate in design sessions with Technology teams and support decision making for client facing capabilities.

Implementation Success-

  • Identify and resolve project road-blocks to ensure successful implementation.

  • Support in development and tracking of key success factors and metrics

Leadership / Partnership -

  • Develop communication and execution plans and overall strategy and business objectives for Senior executive consumption.

Required Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in Wealth Management as an analyst.

  • Strong understanding of the wealth management, competitive landscape and product offerings.

  • Ability to partner with different teams and coordinate deliverables and project timing and execution.

  • Some experience with Citi processes and Citi Global Wealth organization and processes is preferred.

Ability to prudently manage risk to ensure seamless execution.
