Civil/Structural CAD Design Technology Specialist III

We are seeking a Civil/Structural CAD Design Technology Specialist III full-time in either our MA or NY offices, to provide high-quality drafting and design support to our Engineers and Project Managers, in support of civil, structural, and geotechnical design projects. The candidate shall be a self-motivated problem solver with high attention to detail and must be capable of working with minimal direction to solve problems and prepare technically accurate design documents as independently as possible, while adhering to project standards, scope, and budget.

Responsibilities:

Work with a team of engineers, and project managers to produce conceptual through construction level design documents for civil, structural, and geotechnical design projects.

Proficient in the use of AutoCAD Civil 3D to assist in the development various sketches, redline markups, verbal instructions and notes provided by designers and engineers.

Developing Civil Alignments, Plans, Profiles, Elevations, Cross Sections and Detail.

Developing geotechnical monitoring and instrumentation plans and details.

Developing Structural Plans, Sections and Details including rebar and reinforcement.

Understanding and implementing CAD/BIM standards for various clients to ensure QAQC procedures are followed during drawing planning and production.

Communication with other regional offices and companies on design team.

Work within quality/budget/schedule expectations and scope-specific assignments.

Balance a high level of creativity with adherence to established company standards and best practices.

Participate in Design Technology Practice Group CAD/BIM initiatives.

Developing Software knowledge as necessary to support projects requirements.

Qualifications:

Basic understanding of drawing presentation & organization.

Ability to multi-task, be flexible and able to adapt to rapidly changing project requirements and deadlines.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Attention to detail and accuracy of work.

Ability to work with a diverse team.

Knowledge of interoperability between multiple BIM platforms.

Autodesk AutoCAD/Civil 3D.

Autodesk Revit software experience a plus.

Ability to identify various data formats and utilize in CAD/BIM context.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point).

Knowledge of/or Experience with Bentley Openroads, ArcGIS, HoleBASE/OpenGround a plus.
