Responsibilities
Guidehouse’s Decarbonization Solutions team works to deliver the next generation of solutions to support our clients in delivering on a decarbonized energy future. We support companies across the energy sector as they envision and prepare for this future by combining our market knowledge, objective modelling capabilities, and deep technical skills with strategic perspectives on decarbonization planning.
As a member of the team, you will help to identify and build new, transformational offerings for our clients, with a particular focus on positioning traditional corporate focused sustainability services for the utility sector. Our team is actively working with clients to understand what actions they can take to be positioned for success in achieving the most cost-effective solutions for a decarbonized system.
You will work with energy providers across Europe, North America, and the Middle East, developing solutions that support clients through the energy transition. Assignments may include defining sustainability strategies and targets, measuring sustainability impacts, and development and implementing programs to, for instance, abate emissions or develop new products and services – all to drive real-world impact.
In this role you will learn, be challenged, and develop skills at a fast pace. In addition to hands-on experience, formal training programs will teach you the diverse skills you need to succeed.
Key Responsibilities:
This position involves partnering with clients to deliver more comprehensive sustainability strategies and communication.
Working with clients through workshops, 1-on-1 conversations, and interviews to understand their key sustainability challenges, and suggested approaches for solving the challenges.
Working directly with our wider team of energy and sustainability experts to develop new tools that support our clients as they progress through their sustainability journey.
Preparing and presenting analysis, reports, and other documents for internal and/or external clients use.
Leading project teams focused providing sustainability strategy for clients in the utility sector.
Staying abreast of the market, including expectations from rating agencies, NGOs, and other critical stakeholders.
This is a highly challenging position that draws heavily upon problem solving, creative, and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications
Minimum degree required: Bachelors degree
Minimum years of experience: 5 years paid professional experience excluding internship, co-ops, and fellowships
Understanding of the energy industry, including the challenges players are facing as part of the energy transition, particularly focusing on trends around decarbonization.
Familiarity with sustainability disclosures and ratings, including ESG, CDP, SASB, GRI, EEI, etc., and GHG emissions accounting protocol, including the Greenhouse Gas Protocol.
Ability to build effective working relationships with clients to understand their needs.
Ability to synthesize large amounts of information and develop compelling solutions.
Able to draw together expertise from across the business to develop novel solutions that support client projects and proposals.
Pragmatic approach to problem-solving which always considers the client’s challenges and environment.

The salary range for this role is $92,735 - $121,200 USD depending on directly related qualifications
