NYU Langone Health System Clinical Neuropsychologist - Integrated Behavioral Health Service in New York, New York

We are seeking a full- timepediatric neuropsychologist positionproviding consultation and evaluation services to children, adolescents, and families as part of collaborative team within NYU Langone Health Hassenfeld Children's Hospital Integrated Behavioral Health (IBH) Service. The focus of the position is to provide services within our ambulatory subspecialty clinic divisions (cardiac, transplant, endocrinology, pulmonology, adolescent medicine, etc.) collaborating in the care of patients aged 2 through 22.The neuropsychologist will also utilize clinical time to supervise doctoral-level neuropsychology students and fellows working within the service.

The position carries an academic appointment within the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, which is one of only two independent child and adolescent psychiatry departments within an academic medical center in the nation. NYU Langone is ranked as the No. 1 comprehensive academic medical center in the United States, with several subspecialties ranked within the Top 10 nationally based on the US News & World Reports rankings.

The IBH neuropsychologist hired in this role will report to the Lead Integrated Behavioral Health Neuropsychologist. Supervision and mentorship will also be available from other seasoned neuropsychologists across the NYU health system.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide consultation to medical providers across ambulatory subspecialty care divisions and to colleagues within the Integrated Behavioral Health team;
  • Provide effective, evidenced-based evaluation of patients with acute, chronic, and life-threatening illness;
  • Consult and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members on screenings and follow-up services;
  • Implement standardized referral pathways for neuropsychology across medical divisions in partnership with the Lead Integrated Behavioral Health Neuropsychologist and Director of Psychology for HCH;
  • Attend medical rounds and Integrated Behavioral Health team meetings;
  • Chart patient visits per organizational policies using an electronic medical record;
  • Provide teaching and supervision of residents, psychology and other trainees;
  • Participate in training Department of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry trainees;
  • Bill appropriately for services in accordance with NYULH policies and regulations set forth by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services;
  • Contribute to quality improvement and clinical research efforts within this patient population;
  • Collaborate on programmatic development for the IBH care continuum;
  • Participate in continuing education such as weekly Case Conference and Grand Rounds, conducting public workshops, and providing written content for the NYU website.

Minimum Annual Salary: $111,351

Maximum Annual Salary: $115,000

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The annual salary range for a full-time junior faculty role is $111,351 to $116,792. Candidates who qualify for higher faculty appointments are also encouraged to apply. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including faculty appointment, credentials, research history, specialty, and health system need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.

Minumum Qualifications

  • Ph.D. or Psy.D. from an APA- or CPA- accredited psychology program
  • An internship with experience in neuropsychology and completion of a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in neuropsychology
  • Licensed or license eligible in the State of New York
  • Demonstrated expertise in neuropsychological and neurodevelopmental assessments with children, adolescents and young adults with complex medical histories
  • Demonstrated experience in working clinically with complex comorbid presentations including mood, anxiety, personality, and other psychiatric disorders
  • Strong time management skills
  • Ability to work flexibly and meet the needs of a diverse patient population
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of health care professionals
  • Prior experience supervising neuropsychology trainees
  • Familiarity with clinical research and data analysis is a plus

Preferred Qualifications

Prior clinical experience in pediatric psychology and neuropsychology settings. Prior experience in conducting neurodevelopmental assessments and neuropsychological evaluations for solid organ transplant and congenital heart disorder patients is highly desired. Strong interest in clinical supervision, quality improvement, and research preferred.
