Job Information

Huron Consulting Group Consulting MBA Associate, Higher Education Strategy & Operations – Start Dates Summer/Fall 2022 in New York, New York

The Opportunity:

Huron is a consultancy that helps our clients drive growth, enhance performance, and sustain leadership in the markets they serve. Huron’s Higher Education practice is the largest provider of consulting services to colleges, universities, and academic medical centers in the United States. We work with institutions and their governing boards to solve problems and implement solutions that enable the transformative change our clients need to own their future. We believe in the importance of the mission of our clients, and our focus on this sector reflects our recognition of importance of teaching, research, patient care, and public service.

Today, leaders of higher education institutions and academic medical centers are responding to change and uncertainty. Dynamic market forces and limited resources prevent focus on the essential priorities that help students, faculty, and staff thrive. Technological disruption, political pressure on cost containment, and competition for students and faculty converge to create difficult (and interesting) challenges.

As part of the Strategy & Operations (S&O) team, you’ll help our clients create their future business, operational, and technology strategies. Our work helps our clients improve efficiency, reduce risk, focus resources on mission, and enhance student and employee experiences. We do this through design and implementation of all aspects of the operating model: management processes, organizational design, leadership and culture, and strategic management.

We empower you to own your career and achieve your goals. As an entrepreneurial, dynamic organization that brings together a wide range of experiences and perspectives to solve problems in complex organizations, we provide significant opportunities to innovate, create, and own solutions. Through staffing opportunities, mentorship, and career development, we help you grow and become a leader for tomorrow. Our innovative work-life and wellness programs further support a sustainable, healthy career.

Position Summary:

Our MBA Associates join us from a wide range of backgrounds and make an immediate impact working as part of a team committed to developing creative solutions and achieving tangible results. Our work spans a diverse range of approaches that include organizational design, financial modeling, academic portfolio analysis, process analysis, constituent research/engagement, technology transformation planning, and strategic planning.

As an MBA Associate, you’ll work across a wide range of Higher Education clients—from small colleges to major research institutions. Our work is team driven, and we are often bringing together capabilities from across projects and practices. In addition to client work, you’ll also get a chance to participate in various community and culture building initiatives and programs beginning day one.

We provide significant training opportunities to gain depth of understanding in the higher education sector and to build critical consulting skills. Every Huron employee has a coach who will support your development and career planning. We value leadership and look for individuals who demonstrate the ability to bring diverse teams together to achieve results.

As part of Huron’s Higher Education S&O practice, you’ll be at the forefront of helping institutions across the higher education industry navigate the challenges of today, positioning clients to own the opportunities of tomorrow.
