Job Description:

The Enterprise Payments Network group is responsible for defining the enterprise payment network strategy and partnerships. The team leverages networks to deliver best-in-class products and services to our customers through joint innovation.

Reporting to the Enterprise Payments Network Executive, the Consumer Products Strategy Executive is responsible for developing the strategic direction of the Payments Network team and overall management of one of our largest network relationships. This role requires a deep understanding of card payments industry and a working knowledge of issuer /network / acquirer structure. It also requires heavy coordination across global lines of businesses and internal business units including Product, Compliance, Legal, Finance, Risk, Sourcing, Technology & Operations and Vendor Management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop network participation strategy and define long term vision of Bank of America’s network strategy

  • Manage overall networks partnership to optimize economic value, customer experience, & business flexibility for BAC at an enterprise level

  • Negotiate and execute enterprise network issuing agreements across Consumer, Small Business and Commercial businesses

  • Create enterprise level point of view and Industry perspective on existing and emerging changes to the payments ecosystem

  • Partner with Digital / Emerging Payments teams to develop and execute strategic payment initiatives

  • Act as a payment network SME/consultant for areas such as Digital, Consumer, Small Business and Commercial business partners

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field (Business, IT, Math, Finance, FinTech) required. Advanced degree preferred.

  • 10+ years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 12 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD or PhD)

  • 5+ years of working card payments related businesses (issuing, acquiring, network), required

  • Proven and seasoned payments strategy expertise, with experience providing thought leadership within complex, matrixed organizational structures

  • Strong executive communication skills: Impeccable written and oral communication credentials, coupled with strategic influencing skills and the ability to drive agreement through intellect, interpersonal and negotiation skills

  • Exceptional at driving prioritization across a complex portfolio of solutions

Enterprise Description

This role is responsible for developing and evaluating compelling strategies for the consumer products division and related lines of business, such as credit cards. Leads a group of managers and analysts that are responsible for performing strategic analysis to improve portfolio risk, profitability, performance forecasting and operational performance. This position requires interaction across multiple business partners to aide in determining department wide priorities and has significant financial accountability and direct impact to shaping the business area's policies and goals. Key functions involve coordinating asset quality monitoring for senior management, identifying trends based on economic and portfolio conditions, and recommending strategic enhancements to maximize the risk vs. reward tradeoff for the business unit. Establishes department-wide vision for enhancing revenue goals, processes, efficiencies and technologies while minimizing associated risks. Integrates their team's analysis with other corporate units to ensure alignment with business and corporate objectives. Responsible for making hiring decisions and establishing department-wide training. Preferred requirements include 10+ years Strategy Management experience, ability to create business partnerships across the enterprise, extensive knowledge / experience of regulatory guidelines, proven leadership abilities and demonstrated aptitude of assessing financial performance and interpreting analytics.
