Win (Women In Need) Coordinator, Development in New York, New York
Purpose of the Position:
The Development Coordinator is the gift and data coordinator and provides support for the Development Department. The Development Coordinator reports to the AVP of Development.
Enter gifts of cash, checks, stock, credit card charges, ACH and wire transfers into Salesforce fundraising database daily. Make sure automatically entered gifts from Classy (online) have been correctly classified and are not duplicates,
Classify the type of gift by solicitation and category to facilitate the maintenance of donor relationships.
Produce customized tax acknowledgments and correspondence in response to gifts received.
Ensure regular and personalized correspondence and thank you/tax acknowledgements are mailed and/or emailed in a timely fashion.
Produce and circulate gift and financial reports.
Meet multiple deadlines and multi-task daily.
Interact with the Finance Department for the deposits, gifts tracking, and end of month reconciliations.
Prepare reports/materials for annual audits.
Track expenses by category and produce check requests for approval and payment.
Manage reimbursement requests for the Development staff.
Detect, research, and correct any errors and duplications in the donor database.
Keep the database current by updating and customizing code listings and field tables as needed.
Interface and communicate regularly with potential donors and respond to inquiries regarding giving history and opportunities.
Manage giving portals, like Benevity and charity reporting portals like Better Business Bureau, Givesly and GuideStar
Ensure delivery of donor education materials, donor-requested materials, and thank you gifts/benefits owed to donors, including seasonal direct mail, and ecards and some printed cards purchased by donors.
Attend evening and weekend events as needed.
Provide onsite event support during fundraisers and special events, including assistance with logistical coordination and night of tasks such as escorting VIPs and guests to the Step & Repeat.
Travel to various Win event locations throughout New York City using public transportation.
Must be able to sit at a computer for long periods of the workday.
Must be able to ascend/descend stairs in a Win event site.

BA required plus two (2) years of work experience in fundraising and database processing required.
Demonstrated data entry, proof-reading, and math skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite including mail merge required.
Proficiency in Salesforce donor software is required.
