Summary:

The Creative Experiences (Creative X) team is a global, integrated creative agency that drives the creative vision for our brands and how they are perceived in the world. We develop all consumer brand content and experiences for the Facebook company, Facebook app, Instagram, Messenger and WhatsApp. Our vision is fearless creativity that redefines social. How we Work: We have developed best-in-class collaboration models with agencies and our cross-company creative network. While we lead our team to create innovative films, content, and experience across our own channels, we also guide our lead agencies in the creation of content for TV, Print and OOH. This ensures a consistent and strong creative narrative for work that reaches an audience across the globe due to the scale of our apps.

This Role: We are currently seeking a seasoned Design leader to build the Messenger brand through strategic brand systems that express Messenger’s unique role in the world. This person will partner with the Messenger creatives and product leaders to build holistic, consistent brand systems at scale, across marketing and product touch points. This person must have a strong background in brand architecture, craft and design thinking, with a proven track record of leading integrated efforts. The ability to thrive and create a vision for work in a fast-paced, iterative, unstructured environment is critical. This person must be comfortable guiding teams, agencies and/or production partners, but should be willing to roll up their sleeves to do the work when necessary.

Required Skills:

  1. Oversee the design direction of consumer facing Messenger brand

  2. A strong strategic acumen for building timeless brands through brand architecture

  3. Create brand systems, behaviors and design solutions with a high level of craft

  4. Develop original breakthrough design thinking for a variety of marketing touch-points

  5. Manage development of executions that strongly resonate with a range of audiences while maintaining consistency for the brand

  6. Work cross-functionally, balancing the needs of stakeholders and breaking down complex narratives into simple, compelling ideas

  7. Inspire, create and sustain a culture of excellence as a beloved leader of designers, illustrators, copywriters, animators and partnering with producers, program managers, and product marketing managers

  8. Collaborate with creatives, researchers, product managers, product marketers and engineers to serve a global audience

  9. Help lead and manage both in-house and external teams in creative strategy, execution and production

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree

  2. 8+ years experience as a creative leader

  3. Experience developing and managing brand programs in an integrated marketing environment

  4. Experience working with data & insights

  5. Experience overseeing design teams and/or agencies

  6. Experience across the full palette of design expression: traditional, digital (including products), experiential, and ideas that drive earned media

  7. Experience collaborating with cross-functional partners

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Social campaign definition and leadership experience

  2. Experience collaborating with or working on a product team

  3. Experience leading with creative vision, purpose and innovation
