Design from the conceptual stage to the development stage by drawing detailed proportioned sketches and selecting fabrics, trims, and accessories to achieve target costs.
Collaborate closely with merchandising to build and grow men’s businesses
Collaborate with alternate categories (men’s underwear and socks) to optimize brand alignment.
Present new design ideas seasonally to cross functional partners
Responsible for flat sketching in Adobe Illustrator.
Create and maintain design Line Sheets/CADS.
Set up Initial Proto Tech Packs.
Work in PLM system throughout design process and responsible for BOM.
Attend fittings to ensure design aesthetic is achieved.
Collaborate with Technical Design and Design Director to send garment and workmanship comments on fit samples.
Research active and sleepwear market to identify new assortment opportunities and merchandise trends.
Participate in weekly meetings with men’s teams to gain understanding of each business and its priorities.
Prepare working tools for meetings.
Attend cross-functional team meetings to ensure calendar deadlines are met
Bachelor’s degree in Design, or related field required.
Minimum 4+ years apparel design experience, preferably in men’s activewear or sleepwear, with strong knowledge of fabrics and trims and a solid understanding of the design process
Strong flat sketching skills in Adobe Illustrator
Proven creative and innovative design ability with strong color sense.
Solid understanding of product construction (e.g., finishes, fabrics, hardware, stitches, and safety requirements).
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Proficient in Excel.
Some experience working in a PLM system a plus
