Morgan Lewis & Bockius LLP Desktop Support Analyst in New York, New York

Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, one of the world's leading global law firms with more than 4,000 lawyers and staff in 31 offices, is seeking a Desktop Support Analyst, reporting to the Manager or Director of Desktop Engineering. The Desktop Analyst provides desktop engineering and desktop support for new and existing application packaging and deployments. The Desktop Analyst also supports the global management of firm-wide Desktop configuration.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibility
Supports proper deployment of Firm applications.
Provides Level 3 end user support for the configuration and installation of Firm applications.
Maintains system documentation and procedures for desktop applications and solutions.
Tests and debugs 3rd party Firm applications.
Identifies and resolves configuration, installation and application compatibility issues.
Formulates and defines the system scope and objectives for assigned IT projects.
Adheres to defined SLAs for incident, task, request and problem management.
Serves as a service owner of assigned application(s) to proactively monitor and report on trends of the application(s) in both the marketplace and within the Firm.
Proposes solutions based on current IT trends and directions.
Delivers high quality customer service in a timely fashion.

POSITION DESCRIPTION
Monitors the implementation of the solutions for quality and stability.
Performs other related responsibilities as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

This job requires:
\* A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science,
and,
\* minimum 5 years of experience in managing Windows desktop systems including, a minimum of 2 years experience deploying software in a corporate environment and 2 years experience with virtual desktop technologies (application, OS etc.);
or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Proven understanding of Scripting, Automation and Monitoring technologies.

Understanding of systems and lifecycle management.
Strong skills in troubleshooting and resolving issues with the Windows operating system and application software.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business and professional publications, prepare business correspondence, proposals and reports, effectively present information to groups of employees, and respond to questions from employees, managers, clients and vendors.
Advanced arithmetic skills (compute rate, ratio, percent; able to draw and interpret graphs and charts).
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions.

COMPUTER SKILLS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have a basic knowledge of or be proficient in the following software:
Operating Systems: Windows (7, 8, 10), Linux, MacOS X
Desktop Management: Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), PowerShell
Document Management: MS-Office (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel), Adobe, Acrobat Reader, Adobe Acrobat Writer, Visio
Communications: Blackberry, Internet Explorer
Portal/Collaboration: SharePoint

Required: None
Recommended but not required: MSCA and MSCE or other Microsoft certifications as appropriate to the position.
