Digital Marketing Intern - Digital Marketing Operations & Technology

Who You'll Work With

You will be based in our New York office for 10 weeks as part of our McKinsey Summer Internship program. You will be part of the Digital Marketing Operations & Technology (DMOT) guild. You will work with teams who work with client in a variety of scenarios, from strategic roadmap definitions to large scale digital transformations. The guild functions at the intersection of McKinsey's Digital and Marketing & Sales practices.

The Growth Marketing & Sales practice strives to help clients in both consumer and business-to-business environments on a wide variety of marketing and sales topics. Our clients benefit from our experience in core areas of marketing such as branding, customer insights, marketing ROI, digital marketing, CLM, pricing, and sales and channel management. Our practice offers an exceptional opportunity to work at the intersection of marketing, sales and consulting. What You'll Do

For 10 weeks over the summer, you will work as part of a client team with colleagues from across the firm to help our clients with product launches, customer acquisition, loyalty programs, agile marketing and personalization programs at scale, enabled by data and technology.

You will influence many of the recommendations our clients need to positively change their businesses and enhance performance. You will apply your distinctive level of subject matter expertise to develop and work with consulting teams to deliver specific performance marketing strategies and programs that accelerate customer acquisition and customer value across channels and all stages of the funnel.

You will work directly with consulting teams to conduct assessments of client capabilities and performance, playing a role in daily team problem solving and translating diagnostics into actionable insights. You will contribute to defining the implications to the client operating model, new roles and org implications, and operating processes. You will also contribute to the strategies and solutions for marketing technology.

Qualifications

Currently enrolled in a master's or MBA degree-granting program at the time of their internship with an expected graduation date in the 2023-2024 academic year
3+ years demonstrating a high degree of proficiency in launching and measuring digital campaigns across a variety of digital platforms including MarTech or Ad-Tech
Led campaign operations or worked in some capacity at an agency
Technical authority for all technical issues involved in running online ad campaigns (including trafficking of remarketing capabilities, VAST/In-Stream Video, Rich Media and Audio) or operating owned channel campaigns (email, sms, push, onsite A/B)
Advanced knowledge of complementary marketing technologies such as CDP and decisioning engines etc to generate and/or capture growth for client organizations
Analytical and data-driven marketing skills
Natural problem solver with a desire to understand and control the details and work effectively with cross functional teams
Passion to challenge the status quo and find new solutions and drive out of the box ideas; loves and embraces change
Believes in a non-hierarchical culture of collaboration, transparency, safety and trust
Not afraid to "roll up the sleeves" and seeks to go outside comfort zone to learn, and pushes teams to do the same
