Otis Elevator Company is searching for a seasoned and motivated Director of Technical Product Management to drive the evolution, innovation, and growth of its portfolio of digital products. An ideal candidate will be someone who has led and managed the entire digital / software lifecycle of B2B software products - from inception to EOL - a few times. This is an exciting and high-impact position within the Otis Accelerator (OX) team with a wider scope of responsibilities than a typical technical product management role. This individual will be required to work collaboratively with a cross functional team of experts to drive innovation, be hands-on with core product management activities, while also working with cross-functional teams to drive adoption and growth of digital / software products.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Must be capable of hands-on management of product lifecycle: from backlog prioritization to feature definition to design & tech reviews to release planning and documentation. We follow agile (SCRUM) methods in spirit, not just in name.

  • Must be able to collaborate with sales teams to support sales of digital products.

  • Must be able to collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive product discovery and market research that informs Otis’ digital innovation portfolio.

  • Research and build relationships with new innovators to accelerate future technological developments to Otis’s benefit.

  • Assist with driving harmonized pricing and go-to-market strategy across digital products, region by region.

  • Use analytics and product understanding to inform technical decisions and measure impact.

Education / Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or business. Master’s degree is a plus.

Experience and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a good balance of technology strategy, business acumen, and the ability to drive change through ambiguity. He/she will have a point of view based on experience.

  • 7+ years of hands-on product management experience with B2B software / digital products is required. Prior experience with digital / software / SaaS products for industrial tech and/or construction tech companies is a plus.

  • Must have the adaptability to wear multiple hats through the product lifecycle and an ownership mentality to make products succeed.

  • Must have a good business acumen with an eye for design to drive good product decisions.

  • Experience managing products in early stages of lifecycle - from discovery to MVP to product-market fit.

  • Demonstrated skills with product backlog prioritization and writing product requirements. Must be able to closely collaborate with engineering and design teams on a daily basis.

  • Must be able to articulate decisions and be a team player with influence to bring team alignment on product decisions.

  • Must be data-driven in decision making within and across teams. Must also be comfortable with ambiguity and lack of data to make decisions and keep moving forward.

  • Bias towards action, and a demonstrated ability to break down work and identify the highest value, lowest-effort items.

  • Experience of stakeholder management in a matrixed environment.

  • Ability to do customer presentations and demos, when required.

  • Willingness to travel once a quarter to global customer and/or Otis sites.
