What You Will Do:

We are looking for an industry expert and marketing storyteller to join our PPD sales team as the Director of Brand Activation for PPD Commercial Sales. The Director of Brand Activation will be responsible for supporting Redken, L’Oréal Professionnel & Biolage . They will help to create and execute the strategy for this department and the development of the team. They will help to translate PPD marketing big bets into in salon animations via annual salon promotional calendars, in salon merchandising, and in salon support resources for the salon channel for retail and professional services. The Director will partner with the Directors of Brand Operations, Field Training, Learning & Development, Store & Street Business Development teams and key partners at SalonCentric and State RDA to align strategy and ensure consistent communication across all channels of the business. This position adds value to marketing and sales by supporting salon success and creating a virtuous cycle where increased salon sell through promotes increased brand sell in.

Key Responsibilities

  • Development and management of the Brand Activation team including but not limited to, Quarterly Connect Development Meetings, fuel management, identification of internal and external training needs, brand analysis and support.

  • Strategy and development of salon support resources, tools and programs based on PPD initiatives, business needs and KPI’s to support PPD Business Development, SalonCentric & State RDA teams, our salons and stylists.

  • Partners with brand marketing, brand operations, field training, learning & development and sales teams to understand brand priorities and strategies. Creates a vision for how key initiatives will come to life in salons.

  • Accountable for the development of in-salon animations and promotions from inception to fruition for the division. Animations to include, but not limited to, developing new ways for salons to attract prospective customers and selling more retail.

  • Develops the creative and sales support materials to support in salon animations, sell in conversations and joint business plans with the intent to build stronger relationships between PPD salons and foster a community of brand advocates.   • Provides feedback on the brand promotion strategies to ensure purchase requirements and added value offers are relevant to salons.

  • Brings feedback from distributors and salons/stylists to marketing teams to foster greater understanding of the salon industry and to convey key customer marketing needs, strategies, insights, and initiatives between the internal and field teams.

  • Leverages partnership with Summit Salon Business Center to deploy best practices at scale within PPD salons.

  • Presents in salon animations, promotions and incentives to distributors and salon partners.

  • Manages internal and external libraries and content calendars. Ensures that all O+O materials for each selling cycle are available in a timely manner to meet timelines and salon needs.

  • Manages social media channels to feature business education content and salon success stories.

  • Regularly communicates with Distributor Field Training Teams to support sales partner needs.

    What We Are Looking For:

  • 4-year college degree or equivalent professional experience

  • Professional Products/salon background with 7+ years of experience working in a sales, marketing, or category management capacity.

  • Ability to travel up to 15% of time.

  • Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

  • Ability to write effective copy is a necessity, graphic design capabilities a plus
