Association of National Advertisers Director, Business Development in new york, New York

The ANA (Association of National Advertisers)?s mission is to drive growth for marketing professionals, brands and businesses, and the industry. The ANA has an extraordinary opportunity for a seasoned business development professional and is seeking a Director, Business Development who will be responsible for living and breathing member obsession while driving acquisition of corporate memberships.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Generate a robust prospect pipeline through the utilization of strategic marketing and lead generation initiatives and tools

  • Leverage the network of new and existing relationships to prospect new business opportunities

  • Develop and execute outreach strategy plans for growth in accordance with annual targets

  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the marketing and advertising ecosystem

  • Understand prospect needs ? including industry trends, common business problems, and the competitive options available to solve their issues

  • Communicate to prospects and influencers with passion and purpose. Understand and persuasively communicate how ANA drives growth

  • Regularly visit prospects at their HQs

  • Monitor and evaluate the competitive landscape to provide senior-level strategic insights through own research and outreach to members of those organizations

  • Ensure proposals are top quality, accurate and prepared with due care

  • Adhere to ANA?s vetting process outlined in the written handbook for new member acquisitions (eligibility, requirements, approval, etc.)

  • Maintain the integrity, accuracy, and completeness of prospect information and activity

  • Prepare regular assessments of the health and vitality of your territory

  • Accurately forecast new acquisitions and corresponding revenue

  • Work collaboratively with key internal stakeholders

  • Contribute to internal strategic projects and planning


  • Client-side marketing, sales, advertising, and/or brand management (minimum 5 -10 years)

  • Must be proactive and flexible, a ?roll up your sleeves and get it done? team player able to work in a fluid environment with changing priorities

  • Strong organizational and managerial leadership skills

  • Ability to develop and execute strategic and tactical plans

  • Experience preparing presentations and speaking with leaders at all levels of the organization possessing excellent communication and persuasion skills

  • Able to meet tight deadlines and remain calm under pressure

  • Possess a persistent desire to go above and beyond

  • An outgoing, service-oriented attitude is critical.

  • Travel required
