Waggener Edstrom Director - Content & Channel Strategy in New York, New York

WE Communications is looking for a seasoned digital health communications practitioner with experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech sector to join our growing Content & Channel Strategy team. Focusing on healthcare, pharma and biotech clients, this is a critical client-facing role to lead and drive digital and social media campaigns, including content development, channel strategy, facilitation of the regulatory review process, and paid promotion. Other responsibilities include identifying growth opportunities and contributing to a team of digital subject matter experts through thought leadership. While this role will not have direct reports initially, mentorship across our function and leadership of project teams is essential. This position will report to the EVP, Content & Channel Strategy and location is flexible.

Job Functions:

  • Lead healthcare content and channel marketing strategies to position and amplify stories across multiple channels

  • Lead teams in development of comprehensive digital strategies spanning owned, earned, and paid elements for our healthcare portfolio

  • Demonstrate deep understanding of the healthcare regulatory environment on social media and how to navigate for branded and unbranded content

  • Provide channel expertise across FB, IG, YT and new and evolving platforms

  • Serve as an expert on paid social strategy

  • Liaise with Creative and Account teams to manage project execution, including brief development, facilitation of client reviews, and enforcement of timelines

  • Coordinate with Insights & Analytics for regular metrics reports; deliver findings to clients alongside actionable recommendations

  • Play a key role in leading, managing, and growing several healthcare accounts

  • Works directly with DXT leadership across North America offices to ensure all deliverables are on strategy and to the highest quality

  • Serves as the strategy lead, partnering with other strategist, account, creative, and data teams

  • Provides ongoing strategic counsel across multiple healthcare accounts

  • Fosters existing and new client relationships

  • Participates in new business and business growth efforts

  • Identifies growth opportunities with account teams for existing clients

  • Brings a strong POV to the table through active participation in brainstorms, client recommendations, and leadership discussions

  • Plays a large role in evangelizing our digital capabilities with internal teams, clients, and prospects

  • Manages account budgets, client satisfaction, and team resourcing needs

Minimum/Preferred Requirements:

  • 8-9 years’ experience in building content and channel strategies, primarily for pharmaceutical/biotech clients

  • Works effectively with leadership and account leads

  • Understands the value of digital & social media for owned and paid within the healthcare regulatory environment

  • Experience planning integrated digital media campaigns

  • Ability to establish strong client relationships and client service management

  • Experience managing, guiding, and training others

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects with multiple teams

  • Experience with campaign and client financial management & reporting

  • Experience with wide range of social platforms

  • Knowledge of digital tracking & measurement tools

  • Ability to work effectively with leadership team and other stakeholders
